Thanks. Never understand why some people have to use initials to show how cool they are.

Bro this is the little league team from when the seniors were 12. Most of these kids are the starters and absolutely the core of the team….along with a couple younger kids….where is this recruiting allegations coming from? Name some names
Bro u do know that just bc these kids are all from LA doesn’t mean Barbe isn’t actively recruiting, right? What about the coach that went to SLC, back at BHS now, with a few hand picked kids in tow?

The screen shot he posted was from Little World Series Regional. Teams that win the state tournament advance and referred to by their home state. However, the state tournament is comprised from local little leagues. The point he is trying to make is that all the players you see on his screenshot were in the Barbe school district when they were 12.

I understand what he’s saying, I’m saying that the person that brought up recruiting at BHS wasn’t saying they’re pulling kids from NM or NH, just that CGC absolutely recruits the LC area. Thats all. Recruiting can be in ur state or in ur district, and still be recruiting baw.

Understood. I live in LC now but don’t have kids at Barbe. I hear of kids that move into the school to try and play ball at Barbe. They’ve won 11 or 12 titles in the last 20 years or so and scores of their players have earned scholarships. When you have that kind of success, the program recruits itself. I don’t think they have to break rules to get talented kids to want to play to play for them.

umm only his son transferred. wtf you talking about?
you realize im pretty close to both schools and know almost every good kid in swla at baseball from about 8-14.
the littleton kid from sulphur transferred but his family completely moved. had nothing to do with barbe recruiting
and you understand that picture is from South Lake Charles little league when they were 12. not a louisiana team, a sotuh lake charles team
if you know so little that you cant tell that from the picture and are so out of tune with the youth baseball scene...you prolly shouldnt comment.
again tell me the kids that transferred from St Louis to Barbe with David besides his own son. name them please.
also name the other kids that were recruited since yall know so much.
here is the bottom line. these kids at about 11 or 12 start deciding were they want to go to school in HS. Many of these families move to make that start happening. 90%+ of the team though are from South lake Charles anyways
but if a kid wants to get out of zone and sit out freshman year and not have a chance at varisty...who the frick cares. that is following the rules. you dont own the kids because they live in a certain area, should be open enrollment across the state anyways.
and you do realize barbe has the best AP program in the whole state too right? many many families move their kids for HS to there for that reason. Also many catholic school kids go for that reason and the fact the St Louis is nothing but trailers and is no closer to building a new school than they were a month after Laura.
again show me the kdis they recruited.

those kids that are on the screenshot must live in the barbe district to play for that team.
again who are they recruiting?
if they are recruiting how come they didnt get any of the sophomores at Westlake or the martin kdi from westlake? how come they didnt get the corbello kid from Iowa? how come they didnt get any of the recruits from sulphur or sam houston last year?
how come they didnt get any of the big 3 that were at St Louis last year? hell the catcher from St Louis and their best player left barbe right before his freshman year to go to St Louis.
if they are recruiting so hard than how come there is all this other talent in SWLA, enough for the area to kind of dominate HS baseball up and down the list? if they are recruiting...they arent really getting very many, must suck at it

Hate to say it because I agree with most of the stuff you post, but you are completely wrong. His family moved only to play at Barbe. I do agree that kids should be allowed to play anywhere though.

Holy wall of text. I’m not gonna pretend I have the time or desire to pick thru all of that.
I’m gladly out of the travel ball/ summer league/ my kid missing his whole life bc Glenn or Raissa said so bullshite. No doubt u know more of the goings on than I care to.
PS SLC’s facilities or lack thereof would be a great recruiting tool for CGC tho. I don’t think who he brought (coaches kid) from SLC is worth the time or energy tho honestly. The Truax kid is another story. ;)

I agree he prolly did but the whole family moved and he wasn’t recruited, his family decided that it was best decision for him and the family.
Gonna have more and more of that and more kids willing to take the hit freshman year to go and play with the same kids they have played travel with their whole life
As far as slc facilities….that is a recruitment point for all schools for all kids that would normally go to SLC that’s why SLC enrollment is dropping so much. Not just sports kids but all students.

unfamiliar with the Traux kid. he would be at best the #3 or #4 freshman though.
and littleton is getting all kinds of looks so pretty sure gonna end up being a good decision.
but barbe doesnt really have to recruit. same with Sam Houston. The kids that have lots of talent, goals of playing in college and the family has the means...they will go to Barbe, SH or SLC. Sulphur tends to really just get home grown kids only as even their travel ball teams tend to only play together.
overall though kids switching schools for a sport is going to become more and more common. This is due to the 7v7, travel baseball and AAU teams/culture. Kids want to play with the kids they have been playing with and play with the best. its less recruiting than just overall choosing to do what best for you instead of the old way of....well i live here...guess im out of luck thing.

Word on the street is he’s gonna be a good one.
I agree that transferring schools will become more and more popular. I wholely disagree with the practice, but agree it’s gonna be a real thing.
I wasn’t being a dick. I dislike that family (more Glenn than Raissa), so probably some personal distaste comes thru when talking about the program. Dislike or no, the success of the program speaks for itself, and it will continue to recruit itself. With of course some help with back channeling some gray areas.

im a competition guy and believe in open enrollment and schools should compete so im all for it.

i understand that. and understand how they can rub people the wrong way, how his way of trying to motivate kids can turn people off, how being so over the top can turn people off. and there are a lot of people that leave the program after HS and feel used so i get all of that. not sure how anyone could dislike mrs raissa though unless you just dont like hearing the truth.
fact is though both are really good people and really do try and push the kids to be the best they can be and in general his kids graduate with a 3.5 or better more often than any other program in SWLA, no matter the sport. and cant deny his success.
and i totally get how some parents would rather their kid be at a program like SLC, although Connor pushes the hell out of the kids too. I also beleive Chad is prolly little more up to date at SH with all his practices but also understand why someone wouldnt want their kid playing for him too.
in other words...with the good comes some bad at all these programs for sure.
