Can he get Ravens to Super Bowl?
Does he deserve a big contract?
Will Ravens commit to him, long term?

Not by himself
Deserve has nothing to do with it
They'll extend him this offseason, yes.

You can debate whether they should or not, but there is zero doubt that they will.

Ravens have always invested more on defense
That's fine but the game has changed and you have to open up the offense to win a Super Bowl

On his current contract, he could. I wouldn't bet on him, but he could potentially do it.

Don't like saying "deserve" but anyway, I wouldn't break the bank for him.

Once they sign him to that contract, then I no longer think Lamar can take a team to the Super Bowl.

100% stone cold lock they give him a big extension

We’re in a league where guys like Kirk Cousins and Jimmy Gaarappolo are making bank simply for being middle of the road starters in the league

A guy who won an MVP as a sophomore in the league (and put up similar numbers the following season) certainly “deserves” a big contract extension.

You stated he can "maybe" take the Ravens to the Super Bowl.

I assume if he gets a huge extension, your answer to he question would have to go from a maybe to something like a doubtful or unlikely, correct?

He needs more weapons for his passing game to get better..... I’m not saying he is a good passer of the football but having some better players on the edge would help.... but it doesn’t really matter... he won’t lead the Ravens to A SB.

I meant that more as like a “maybe he will” because it’s such a hard thing to do. I think he could do it, but I wouldn’t say I would expect it at this point

So maybe he can, maybe he can’t.

The league the past couple years has proven how kind of phony the salary cap really is so I don’t think a big contract at QB really holds a team back from competing. I think with any situation it just comes down to how well you draft.

Quarterback is somehow both the most important and the most overvalued position in sports

I’d argue it’s still extremely undervalued due to the restraints of the rookie contract structure and the franchise tag making it near impossible for these guys to ever truly test out their free market value

Even Mahommes likely left a ton of money on the table
