Same for when he played State in the Gator Bowl I believe. I enjoy watching him but I don't think he has any staying power in the NFL.

NFL Defenses always figure out a running QB. When that first big injury comes or the QB gets tired of getting his bell rung, he will reside in the pocket.
But he’s been pretty good, kudos to him. I didn’t see it coming.

You always gotta give sometime to these types of players. QUincy Carter, Kordell Stewart, Kaepernick, RG3, Cam Newton, and etc. They make huge waves their first 1-4 years then fall off very quickly when D-Coordinators learn how to take away what they're good at and make them do things that are uncomfortable for them.

Tin foil hat on I wonder if Bill has a good idea how to limit Lamar but didn't employ that game plan 2 weeks ago for 1. Not let other teams see it. 2. To save for the playoffs because the Ravens are the only real threat to the Patriots in the AFC. and 3. To not let the Ravens see it and come up with a way to combat the defensive game plan New England would have in store for them.

He is RG3 who hasn't had his legs injured yet. Let's see where he is at five years from now.

At the least, he seems to have a better organization in front of him than RG3’s Skins and appears to have a better idea of how to spread the ball around than Falcons era Vick.

It may not last forever but he is winning there, which is something they weren’t doing with Flacco.

Kaepernick literally almost won a Super Bowl and is still considered a joke by many / most.

Aaron Brooks had one of the the greatest half seasons for a QB in Saints history (at the time) and led them to victory over the Super Bowl champs and outplayed Kurt Warner in first playoff victory and is a punchline now.

RGIII similar timeline.

Don’t give up the dream on Lamar busting!

We’ve seen running QB have meteoric rises and burn out quickly before. He and Roman are a fantastic match.

I doubt he’s a 12 year starter due to the pounding he’s going to take, but if you get 5-7 years of production similar to this he’s going to have a fantastic career.

I got laughed off the board when I said I’d take him first overall

I’m no genius and I have my fair share of mistakes but his talent was undeniable

I know he was coming off the Heisman banquet circuit but I was at that game and he didn’t do shite. Baltimore coaches deserve a shite ton of credit revamping their offense and making it work as well as it has so far.

The problem for the Ravens will be if he plays well with this style, and then they have to sign him to a huge contract. Will they be willing to give him long term big money due to injury concerns?

Actually forget my five years from now comment. Let's see what happens to him the year he makes the cover of Madden.

Its undeniable that he didn't look good against LSU, but I wonder how much that had to do with the overall talent differential between LSU and Louisville.

People forget this, but it’s 100% true.

I wouldn’t crown Lamar as the future just yet

But he is gonna win the MVP this year

Lol whut? If Kaepernick ever out up the numbers Lamar is right now he might still be in the league.

Kaep is shite compared to Lamar. Flip a coin between which year you think is better for Colin. 2013 or 2014.

In 13, he went for 58% 3200 yards, 21 TDS, 8 INTs and 524 rush yards with 5TDs
In 14 he went for 60% 3400ish with 19TDs 10 INTs and 639 rush yards and 1TD

Lamar has 66% for 2200, 19 TDS, 5 INTs and 788 rush yards with 5TDs with 6 games to go.

Projected to finish with 3500 pass yards and 25TDs and 1200 rush yards and potentially 16 rush TDS.

Kaep ain’t got shite of those numbers. Only RGMe can sniff those rush numbers.

Lamar is torching Ds and doing it without a true WR threat. Brown has merely been mediocre.

He still doesn’t understand NFL offenses. Harbaw completely revamped the team to fit his peculiar strengths. They’ll make playoffs but will never advance very far IMO

You don’t think the patriots offense was at least in part tailored to augment Brady’s strengths?

I’m no expert but I’m pretty sure everyone does this to some degree.

He's on pace for at least a thousand yards rushing. If he averages five yards a rush that is two hundred carries per season. Your quarterback can not do that year after year without eventually getting an ankle or leg broken or getting a knee torn up. His career path is going to look more like Gale Sayers than John Elway at this rate. He may tear up the league for three or four years but he will be out of the league by the time he is thirty unless they change the offense he is in.
