Clay Travis hasn’t gone full reverse Jemele Hill yet, but he’s getting close.

What a dumb statement- players never improve? Especially players going into only their 3rd season.

Accuracy is developed over literal years of throwing with probably millions of reps developing the motion required to be repeatable.

If you don’t develop accurate tendencies the first 17 years of your life, what makes you think he will the next 5?

I'm really trying to figure out why he went to Hawaii when the Pro Bowl is in Orlando.

He's so inaccurate that he missed the target by the entire continental United States.

So you basically think that dudes can't improve after two seasons in the league. Thank goodness you'll never be a GM in the NFL because that kind of logic is utterly ridiculous.

Why are people so mad at this guy?

Like people are angry and hate him. It's pathetic.
I think it's because people dislike overrated things. A friend of mine attempted to convince me that Lamar had one of, if not the best, seasons that a Qb has had...

I don't hate Lamar at all, and I think he's entertaining, but he's not close to a top level passer.

Joe Burrow: 2018 - 57.8%; 2019 - 76.3%

Now I’m not saying Lamar is suddenly going to be one of the most accurate guys in the league but to imply improvement is impossible for a second year qb is nuts.

Burrow's increase in accuracy was mostly due to being able to throw to receivers who were open. He didn't just all of a sudden become that much more accurate. He even mentioned early in the season that the biggest change in the offense was that receivers were running routes to get them open, rather than having to go out there and beat their man 1 v 1 in sets with 2 routes like the previous system.

ETA: which is also why Lamar was so accurate this year. It's much easier to pass to receivers when the defense has to play 8 in the box because you can run so well.

Everyone should have seen this coming

IDGAF what his stats are... Lamar isn’t an accurate QB, the majority of his throws/yards are a direct result of good play calling and play design combined with easy, short completions

This shouldn’t be shocking to anyone, yet in today’s society, it automatically becomes a race issue or an example where people can say ‘see, I told you he wasn’t a good qb!!!’, which is stupid

I think guys can improve things they have to think about and haven’t been ingrained in them over literal decades of playing football. For example, reading defenses, understanding protection schemes and needs, option routes, RPO concepts.

What I do not think improves is his ability to throw a football 6” lower while under pressure because he will fall back to muscle memory and the mechanics are not those of a pin point accurate thrower of the football.

And let me also say I think Lamar is a unique talent that with the proper scheme around him can win frick tons of games in this league.

So by your logic, Brees was the same QB in New Orleans that he was in San Diego, his numbers only improved because of....

Hmmm....

Wonder what changed.....

Look, here's the thing with Lamar, he only threw 6 picks this year. As long as he's not throwing picks, you can live with him not being pinpoint because he makes up for it with his running.

He's not Tom Brady with accuracy, but everything this year was encouraging. I doubted his accuracy out of college, but I can't act like he hasn't improved in that area so far as a pro. If he regresses, that's one thing, but so far, the signs are positive.

To be fair, a RB shouldn’t be in a passing competition.
