Spoon knew she wouldn't keep job because of awful record/ product on the court. Had nothing to do with her gender or skin color. All wanted her to do well but she didn't. New hire is weird and last brief grasp for relevancy in women's bb with almost no chance of success.

And they're competing against...oh that's right other schools with no athletic scholarships.

You're just trolling him right? You aren't seriously comparing this kid to JT III?

I'm saying both got their jobs because of their last name, neither because of race.

The name helped JT III but he had some credentials. Getting an Ivy to 3 postseasons in 4 years will get you a bigger job. Maybe not G'Town but somewhere decent.

This kid ran some practices for a couple months.

T Spoon was the worst coach in program history.

Good chance she won't hold that title for long.

Man, it is going to be hard to get worse than her. The reviews on Summitt have been stellar. Could he be a bust? Sure. However, the program is almost to the point where it could only go up.

He's got the pedigree to recruit and LA Tech has the WBB history to recruit. He can be successful here.

Hopefully he is not in over his head.

Because his mom is basically Queen Elizabeth of the sport so no one is going to shite on her kid.

Because his mom could? Mulkey's daughters is a senior at Baylor could snatch her up as lead assistant.

LOL, Mulkey isn't Summitt. He was constantly around the program and he definitely picked up more than a few things.

The hire brought a national spotlight back to the Lady Techster program. Time to give Tommy McClelland a chance. This is first hire as AD.

Who is going to replace the men's basketball coach? Barry Rupp? Adolph's underachieving great grandson?

womens college bball is like 99% recruiting, doesn't matter how good of an x's and o's coach you are

Maybe the kid will bring a little class back to the program. The Tech teams under Witherspoon were very thuggish and undisciplined.

Are you serious? Tech is one of the top 3 all-time women's basketball programs.

Wrong. It went downhill the day Kurt Budke was hired. Not giving Kim Mulkey a 3 yr contract was the dumbest thing Dan Reneau ever did, even ahead of hiring Jim Oakes as AD. All she wanted was a 3 yr contract and Reneau only offered her a 1 yr deal, she said no thanks and was hired by Baylor the next week. That was the downfall of the Lady Techsters.
