My God, I'm not pro or anti-vax but completely pro-choice when it comes to individual freedom here but this is NOT an argument I would make to explain not getting the vax

it’s still not preventing the Covid” — which it is

This is an OUTRIGHT LIE, can't believe whoever wrote this is employed as a "journalist" and calling out "misinformation" when he just uttered misinformation right there

My God this was such a leftist biased article, I respect Jonathan Isaac even more after reading that. LOL Rolling Stone journalists pretending they're medical experts.

I agree, if he doesn't want it I don't particularly care why-- don't get it. He doesn't HAVE to get it, but he also doesn't HAVE to play basketball. Is he so opposed that he will quit? If so, then do it. Who cares?

I'm all for freedom, but I also think it's silly for people to think that their actions and decisions don't have consequences. If you choose to be unvaxxed then you also must live with the fact that you can't do things where it's required. If you can't go see a game, get on a plane, go to a certain restaurant, or go inside in New York or California to play basketball... You knew what the result would be, you made the decision, you chose to so live with it.

From a basketball side it will be insane if he can't practice with the team in Brooklyn but still plays with them on the road? Or do they intentionally practice more when on the road? Does his full salary count against the cap or can they get cap space? Would they trade him to a team where he could play? How much would it hurt his trade value that there are certain venues he can't play in. Honestly... it would be pretty entertaining.

So, a proportional number of the vaxed and unvaxed in the United States are:

testing positive for covid
being hospitalized with covid
dying of covid

It shouldn't be required in the first place, it's the dumbest policy in the history of the world and needs to stop. What? We're gonna then require people to show their allergy shot cards every time they want to go somewhere? That's literally the equivalent to showing a vaccine card for an overhyped virus in the first place. Soon the govt and our employers will require us to get castrated, that's the slippery slope we're on.

I actually think this will be good and actually influence businesses and other entities and expose to them how dumb this policy really is and how it's nonsensical in terms of the logic behind it.

If they use the logic Kyrie used then yes. I think the vax is overrated, not against getting it but all the data and everything entails if you had covid already, you're better off for the long run than if you got the vaccine in terms of immunity. If people haven't gotten covid yet and they have compromised immune systems which might entail hospitalization or serious symptoms from it, I'm all for them getting the vaccine but as a freedom-loving American, it should be their choice to make and risk to assume.

It makes perfect sense.

Read it a few more times.

Are a proportional number of people in the United States:

Testing positive for Covid.
Hospitalized with Covid.
Dying from Covid

In relation to our vaccination rates.

I’ll make it easier for you.

56% of the American public is fully vaccinated.

Are 56% of all Covid cases, hospitalizations, and deaths from vaccinated people, currently. In the United States.

Yes, or no?

I don’t see how it is. You said it’s an outright lie that vaccines prevent people from getting Covid.

They do.

Unless your definition of “prevent” is 100% stops which is absurd.

Making it a semantic game, typical coronabro/leftist tactic

Here's Merriam-Webster's primary and most colloquially (and popularly) understood definition of the word prevent:

quote:

to keep from happening or existing

I thought this dude was trolling at first with his crazy shite, but he is a mental case.

But these types of conspiracy theories seem to be pretty popular. Someone told me they have coworker who thinks the vaccine injects a small chip in people and that in the 5G towers there is a box titled Covid that will allow the government to be able to monitor everything we do (As if our cell phones don't already do this).

Evidently this person thinks is also somehow connected to the orange light that comes on our cell phone (you know.. the orange light that indicates the microphone is being used).. So its hard to tell what people really believe these days.

Leftist?

You don’t understand what prevent means. There is literally never been a vaccine ever that 100% stops everyone from getting a disease. None. Zero. Not even the polio vaccine that has essentially eradicated the disease.

The Covid vaccine prevents most people from getting Covid while they have the antibodies. If largely prevents people from being hospitalized or dying.

You don’t understand what the word “prevent” means in the context of vaccinations.

I imagine they will get better over time as well. I’m interested to see the Novavax results.

I literally gave you the definition

quote:

There is literally never been a vaccine ever that 100% stops everyone from getting a disease.

That journalist says it prevented people from getting covid when it clearly does not

quote:

The Covid vaccine prevents most people from getting Covid while they have the antibodies. If largely prevents people from being hospitalized or dying.

That's not the point the aunt was making nor was it what the journalist was rebutting, if we still read and comprehend actual English here

quote:

You don’t understand what the word “prevent” means in the context of vaccinations.

I understand what the word "prevent" means actually and how the vaccine was sold to the public in relation to covid and I also read the aunt's statements but glad you conceded I was right that the vaccine does not prevent people from getting covid.

ETA: BTW you literally said this

quote:

I don’t see how it is. You said it’s an outright lie that vaccines prevent people from getting Covid.

They do.

Then proceed to contradict yourself (as I so expertly proved with my subsequent post) by saying this

quote:

Unless your definition of “prevent” is 100% stops which is absurd.

Hope you enjoy Biden, coronabro.

frick JOE BIDEN frick JOE BIDEN!!

I just want to make sure you actually read the quote and editorial act to further expose how stupid your post and deflecting is

quote:

“You may have to sit on the sideline, you might not have to be in the arena during this. If it’s that freaking important to get a vaccine that, hell, it’s still not preventing the Covid” — which it is — “then I’d rather them working it out that way than to say, ‘Hey, if you don’t get the vaccine, then you can’t be a part of the franchise that you ****’ helped build.’”

Nowhere in that quote does she say it's not preventing people FROM DYING OR GETTING SICK FROM the Covid, she just says it's not preventing the Covid which goes to my post and point. Enjoy your L, coronabro, I'm done dropping the mic on your arse.

None of what you posted makes sense.

By your absurd definition, not one single vaccine prevents any disease.

None. Zero.

Why don’t you think about that for awhile. And grow up.

I’ll ask again: In the United States of America, today, are 56% of all Covid cases from the vaccinated and 44% from the unvaccinated?

Yes or No? No other words necessary.
