Many people could be a Hall of Famer with guys like Isaac Bruce, Tory Holt, Marshal Faulk, Larry Fitzgerald and Anquon Boldin all in their primes.

Matt Leinart disagrees

Why do you always feel the need to put everyything in historical context?

nah, it was 120+ in each one of the 4 games. That's crazy....esp considering he has a head injury sandwiched in there.

probably, but only because the precedent set for QB's isnt very strong.

He benefits from a few great seasons....other than that, he is nothing special.

as good as he has been, he has had some equally as bad/mediocre seasons right in the middle of his prime

Warner, at the end of this season, will have:

1. 30,000 career passing yards (top 30 all time)
2. 200+ TDs (top 30 all time)
3. 93.6 - 94 CAREER passer rating (top 4 all time)
4. The top three super bowl passing games yards wise
5. 3 SB appearances and a ring
6. 2 MVPs
7. 65.5% career completion percentage (top 2 all time)
8. Career 8.0 Yards per pass attempt (top 5 all time)
9. Over 2500 career completions (Top 30 all time)
10. 7.12 Net Yds/Pass Att (Top 3 all time)
11. 6.72 Adj Net Yds/Pass Att (Top 5 all time)
12. 21.3 Passes Completed/Game (Top 3 all time)

and the fact that he was a 28 year old rookie makes it even more impressive. I don't his late NFL start will hurt him at this point...may actually strengten his case b/c it's an amazing story.

i know that...top heavy...like i said, he's had some great seasons.

And in the middle of that, he couldnt beat out Marc Bulger and a rookie Eli Manning on teams that were going nowhere.

the only teams he has flourished on has had 2 pro bowl WR's and 4 legit WRs

From what I understand, he had some YEARS where he was injured and couldn't really put anything on the ball during that stretch. He really was better then Eli when he was up there and when he got to the Cardinals he had to sit the bench as the better player for a while as well.

Warner grossly outplayed Eli. He had no chance in NY.

Warner got hurt then Bulger posted a 100+ passer rating on the season. Wild circumstance, and pretty controversial.

it's not like he just sucked all of a sudden.

i guess they just didnt seen the hall of famer in him.

coincidently he had no other offensive crutches to make him look better than he actually is.

There have been a whole shitload of QBs in the history of the NFL that couldn't do shite with great WRs.

Can't tell if you are being sarcastic or not. You do think he was at least better then Leinart when he was on the bench?

how many HOFers, in the middle of their prime, couldnt hold down a starting job on teams with shitty QB's???

Thats the only reason i question his candidacy. He shouldn't be a 1st ballot guy, but based on his really good seasons, he'll end up being "worthy"

which adds to his lore. Talent evaluators can obviously be wrong, and Warner personifies this.

you realize once he got fairly healthy with the giants that he never had a passer rating under 85? So even as he "sucked" he was a pretty good QB.
