Not sure if any of this was made public but I recall reading the police report of Kobe's arrest and it stated when police came to his hotel room at the resort to question him he admitted to sex with the woman and even picked up a towel he used to wipe off his dick after jizzing inside her and threw it to/at one of the cops, who was unprepared for it. I'm sure that was a little humiliating for the cop. He also conceded that he had anal sex with the woman and an officer asked why and he responded "because that's my thing". What a gent!

2003 was such a different world. My family had season tix during this time and I remember attending several games during that 03-04 season. Most fans I spoke to had the attitude of "he probably did it, but." And many would say things like Kobe could never do such a thing, as if they knew him personally lol. The truth is they wanted the Lakers to stay great and were willing to look the other way. Eventually the sponsors and media also came around and he became as big a superstar as we've seen in sports.

What if the LeBron hater hated Kobe before all of Lebron’s stuff?
They’re fine imo.

LeBron lied about racial slurs being spray painted on his property.
They never took one photo or filed a police report. hmmm

Kobe’s a rapist. Being great at basketball and dying in a helicopter crash doesn’t change that
But we have guys on the msb who were depressed saying they couldn’t wake up and function a month from the crash. We have posters bringing up “this is the 2 year anniversary of Kobe dying in a helicopter…tears tears”. Good lord, grow the frick up. He doesn’t know you and you don’t know him personally. All you know about him is from guy playing ball on TV.

It's no secret why he isn't venerated or talked about like other stars after his death.
Stars paid their dues, said nice things and then everyone moved on....in part, because of that Elephant in the room.

Had nothing to do with being black, it was about being a beloved star for the right people in the right location. Kobe was a star in LA, he was adored by the right in-crowds and entertainment moguls.

Are you serious? His death was pretty easily the most covered and mourned of any athlete in the last 40+ years. Probably the only public figures whose deaths were more covered in that time were Princess Di (international) and maybe Michael Jackson.

Even though he died during his sports Super Bowl it was still not even close to Kobe nationally. Maybe in some pockets of the south sure.

I’ve come around on this. LeBron is the do it all king. Huge beast player with all the skills. Jordan would have a hard time with him, and he couldn’t Jordan up.

Don’t be a rapist isn’t really asking that much.

Kobe had the MJ of PR teams.
They really did quite a job to the point where people don’t mention it much anymore. I came across a lot of people irl and online when he died that had no idea this was even a thing. Of course these people were mostly not huge Kobe or NBA fans and were too young when it happened but still knew who he was and other things about him
