Saw that. Just cant believe Mamba would let some random take him and his kid around
If I ever get rich(I won’t), I wouldn’t fly private anyway
And if I did, it would be a decorated ex military guy flying me around

Kobe helicoptered pretty much everywhere. He would helicopter to Staples from Newport for every game and to practice. This was his normal mode of transportation.

The pilot eventually headed north along the 118 freeway before turning to the west, and started following above the 101 freeway around Woodland Hills, CA. At around 9:40 AM they encounter more weather -- as in seriously heavy fog -- and the chopper turned south. This was critical, because they turned toward a mountainous area. The pilot suddenly and rapidly climbed from about 1200 feet up to 2000 feet. However, moments later -- around 9:45 AM -- they flew into a mountain at 1700 feet. Flight tracker data shows they were flying at about 161 knots.
This almost reads like a play by play of my post above. he was flying between the ground and the clouds and ran into heavy cover and rapidly climbed vertically. he apparently didn't climb completely out of the cloud cover though or he didn't climb high enough not realizing there was a mountain in front of him at basically the same altitude that was obscured by cloud cover.

TMZ is a piece of shite organization.
Kobe's family found out through social media and TV that their husband, father, sister and daughter died in a helicopter crash before the Sheriff's Office could tell them in person.
That was sensitive information we, the public, were not entitled to until the family got it first.
Imagine opening up your phone's instagram, facebook and getting a ton of RIP, Condolences and whatnot texts.
Just despicable.

Agree, but that's 2020 for ya.

Shitty pilot or not, it also appears as though this flight never should have been approved for take off in the first place if even the LAPD was suspending air support.

Honestly, I don’t think I would care if I found out from the sheriff or random texts/tmz that my spouse and kid died

Exactly wonder if it was Kobe who said frick it with Mamba mentality or the pilot sold him into doing it
So sad. The weather is terrible right now here

It’s 2020 man. Get used to it. This is how news breaks
Posted on 1/26/20 at 7:18 pm to lsupride87
Yea I don’t think the method it was delivered would matter to me either. I’d be just as distraught either way

Modern information age + 24/7 news cycle. Sucks for the family of course, but it's been that way for at least a decade if not more.

TMZ is a piece of shite organization.
