He's gotten better, yes.

But Durant is better man.

You are absolutely entitled to your opinion though.

Harden has looked MUCH better on defense this year. He had such an offensive load last year that he was simply to exhausted to play defense well, which McHale has acknowledged. With Howard behind him, and other guys scoring, he has been much better defensively.

He was too tired from doing everything on offense to hustle on defense. Not that tough of a concept. The Rockets ran a fast break offense, where Harden had the ball in his hands constantly.

Great stats, bro. Look at the minutes per game.

Come on man. Is that supposed to excuse his defense last year?

When James Harden wins the MVP, will it be acceptable to bump this thread?

Kevin Durant is shooting 37.1% through two games this year. Oh, Westbrook is out, you say? Did Harden have a Westbrook last year?

Harden is a solid defender when he wants to be. Just like Durant is. I remember when people used to say that Durant was a bad defender too. Did you know that players can improve?

Larry Bird was better than Michael Jordan for a few years. How did that turn out? Players can pass other players. Be open to it.

I'm not mad that some of you think Durant is better than Harden. I'm mad that some of you only watch ESPN for basketball news, so you missed an incredible year from Harden, and now you aren't even open to comparing the two players.

I didn't miss Harden's or Durant's year and I despise ESPN.

That doesn't change the fact that Kevin Durant is far and away the best basketball player alive not named Lebron James.

I saw Harden play last year. 'Too tired to hustle back on defense' is an excuse. Didn't say I'm unwilling to the possibility of him improving his defense but your reasoning for last year is an excuse.

Durant.

More PPG, better FG%, better TS%

But Harden is a fricking beast, too.

They are close.
