I’m surprised the Rockets got him without giving up Smith or Shepard

This would normally be a “need one more player” type trade for a title ready team. He is aging and not much gas left in tank. Still good on offense but not good defense due to energy required.

What?

quote:

Kevin Durant last season:
26.6 PTS (64.2 TS%)
52.7 FG%
43.0 3PT%
• 12th straight year averaging at least 25 PPG on 60 TS% (NBA record)
• As the primary defender, was 2nd in the NBA in DFG% behind Amen Thompson.

He’s not coming on to carry the team, we need him to be a catch & shoot and iso guy and he is still one of the best in the NBA at that.

I swear no one has actually watched the Rockets play basketball last year

Well, now we know who will be getting the #1 draft pick next year. All you have to do is trade away your star player.

Booker's their star player and they don't have control of their pick until like 2032.

And this would be the big thing.

The whole point of a Houston trade with Phoenix should have been to regain control of their picks. They got exactly one of their picks back.

Having a top 10 pick back is good but they also have an obscenely high payroll, few if any picks, and Booker is going to want out at some point.

I also hate that I'm mentioning the picks as if it has any weight when the NBA brass decide which cities get which picks

Jalen Green isn't nearly as inefficient as some claim he is. You act like he Lonzo Ball.
Lonzo Ball TS% in the two seasons before his injury:

2020-21: 55.1%
2021-22: 57.5%

Jalen Green last two seasons:

2023-24: 54.1%
2024-25: 54.4%

Kevin Durant the past two seasons:

2023-24: 62.6%
2024-25: 64.2%

League average TS%: 58.1%

Bill Simmons was right about Jalen Green all along. He's not bad but it's some empty calories.

ETA: Also dude is a 23 yr old NBA star dating a 40 year old professional thot with 3 kids including one that is Jalen's age. Decision making must be questioned.

Why would the NBA hate this?

ESPN is fricking terrible so they'll probably spend half of the pregame for GAME 7 OF THE FINALS talking about "how will this effect KD's legacy?". Last year they spent an hour of the pregame before game 1 talking up that Woj created Hurley/Lakers story. It will definitely eat into a small market champ's shine on all the sports shows tomorrow.

She’s just sucking his dick properly and letting him do stuff to her no chick has ever allowed.

It will get old and he will settle down.

Durant won't play 60 games next year. He's done and the Rockets gave away a decent future for 1 disappointing season.

The Rockets now have the only two remaining players in the league who played for the Seattle Supersonics with KD and Jeff Green.

Man, Durant has really hurt his legacy jumping from team to team. He use to be one of the faces of the league and must-watch for any NBA fan. Hardly anyone gives a shite about him anymore.

KD is your favorite player's favorite player. That has always been his reputation. Guys in the league are all in awe of his skill. I remember watching a video years ago of KD playing King of the Hill against prime Harden and prime Paul George, and it was so clear he was miles above them in skill.

In no way did they get worse. Their defense is elite, but they lacked any reliable scoring punch. Getting Durant, even at his age, without giving up any important players or picks is a big win for the Rockets.
Dont bring logic lol. The real benefit is if they could convince to come off the bench, 6th man possibly. Give big scoring pushes while not overworking him.
