lets call it a wash bc pau doesnt have to be as much of a focal point in the offense as blake griffin does
what's funny about this is it tells you how different players can be - even tho they look incredibly similar by the statistics

people who throw out the stat argument as their reasoning tell me all i need to know about what they actually know about basketball
stats are good for comparing players from different eras (and there is still some subjectivity in that), but stats are a terrible measuring stick when comparing players who are peers

hmmm, not sure i can agree with that... I think they can be misleading in either case but see no reason why they would be more accurate when you compare players from different decades

im talking the totality (final numbers) of a players career
stats are not good for current evals because there are so many different nuances that can affect stats (system, quality of teammates, coach philosophy)
those things are largely balanced out when looking at a players total numbers at the end of his career... they are more pronounced when looking at stats from an ongoing season
pau v. blake griffin for example

ok, you mean a season vs a career?
well of course a career is more accurate overall because it includes more information

yeah
stats are only good for the aggregate of a players career
too much emphasis is placed on single season stats when discussions like these come up

Going by stats - it appears that way
What stats?
Going by stats actually pretty clearly prove that KD is NOT the best in the league.

lebron simply has more of an all around game than the other 3.
Uh...I'm assuming you mean statistically only. Because on the court, Kobe and Wade have better all around games.
You can bump this when Lebron learns what the phrases "back to the basket" and "post up move" mean. Lebron has two moves: Jump shot and drive.

LeBron doesn't need a back to the basket game right now to be effective.
Kobe didn't have one until he got older and needed to get one.

does kobe rebound and distribute as well as lebron? not even close
i'd even say lebron is a better defender than kobe at this point in their careers

LeBron is no doubt a better and more effective player than Kobe right now. A couple of years ago maybe this would have been an argument. But right now, it's not close. Don't start this argument with him.

LeBron is the best player, but KD35 will be in the near future.
ETA: I think if KD35 and RW0 stay together, they will win more rings than LeBron.

Maybe in 5 years.

That would be false. He's had one for a LONG time, virtually since he came into the league. He met with with Hakeen a couple of years ago to refine it.

which was when everyone started saying how improved it had gotten. He may have had one before, but it wasn't the strong point of his game or even that important.

It was always good. The story made headlines because Kobe intentionality came out and showcased Hakeem's moves over and over before his injury last year.

I understand why you're saying this about Kobe, but in what way does Wade have a better all around game? Have you actually watched any Heat games this season?
