We taking bets on if Girvin even makes it to the entry box?

Joe Sharp being his typical shady self...

I'm still on Mcraken and Irish war cry and building from there. Always dreaming has been a mess on the track every day. Gotta think the derby crowd does him in.

I cannot handicap 3 year old derby contenders so I dont try. I actually have the most success playing claimers at secondary tracks.

I'm better with the stakes horses.

As the claiming prices go down so does my ability to handicap them

Classic Empire is the most talented colt in the race but has been inconsistent in his three year old campaign.

Always Deeaming is owned by a yankee consortium, one of whom is named Brooklyn Boyz. Obviously pulling against them, don't bring ghetto shite into thoroughbred racing.

I haven't paid much attention to it yet but is there a possibility that Girvin doesn't run? Also is it possible that Local Hero makes it into the field? He really impressed me at the Fair Grounds.

I'm going with Irish War Cry. Had good closing speed vs Battalion runner in the wood memorial.

Will be at Churchill on Saturday in an owners box. Aspy, I am sure you know these people, they are from Louisiana and have a farm outside of Lexington (KG).

I'd ay a pretty good chance. Sharp finally admitted today he's got a 1/4 crack. He's been going to the hyperbaric chamber which screams lung or breathing issue. Also hasn't trained since Monday and won't tomorrow either after a missed work Monday. He won't be fit enough for 1 1/4. You can't swim up to this race

Mcraken has looked so good galloping the last few days.

Going to have Hence in my bets somewhere. The 2nd and 3rd horses in the Sunland gave Classic Empire all he wanted in the last race.

I know he's this year's wise guy horse, but hence has looked great on the track too. He's a big, well put together animal. Was going to bet conquest mo money, but since he's out I'll take the horse who beat him

I didn't see Malagasy getting the 1 1/4 mile distance. Seemed like he was tiring in the Arkansas

Same. You are betting against the other bettors. My theory is that the serious students focus on the big races and tracks, while it is mainly more casual or less informed folks like me who bet on the small-time races. I stand a better chance against my own kind.

I also like to try longshots on maiden and cheap claiming races where the horses haven't run much and no one really knows what they can do. The shittier the field, the more I throw at the longshots. Have cashed a few nice tickets, and it's fun as hell when one hits.

Hard not to like Classic Empire's finish in the AR derby. Reminded me of Exxagerator's game plan last year in the first 2 races of the triple crown.

I'll probably be on Classic Empire. I tend to be very biased towards horses that have won the Arkansas Derby though.

This seems like a good year for a long shot to win it, so I'll probably box a few horses together and hope I can hit a big exacta.
