@ESPNSteinLine: One of the first orders of business now for Golden State, sources say, is finding a trade partner for Andrew Bogut to shed his $11 million.

9 years, no titles?

Are you really trying to argue OKC was the best situation and not tough to win a title?

For next year? Probably the second best scenario with more money.

Through his run? Been in the Final Four multiple times...playing alongside a top 10 player in the league.

Pretty good situation.

Painting the picture that OKC has been destitute is false.

I know I'm pretty bummed about no longer having control of NBA players injuries like I used to have.

So again, your argument is that OKC is not a really tough place to win a title?

So you're acknowledging how successful and close they've already been?

3rd, at best.

0 titles in 9 seasons, by default, kinda shows it's tough to win.

I've painted the picture that it's tough to win in OKC because...it's tough to win in OKC.

I'm saying it's tough to win with his current team based on the current climate.

9 seasons with no titles is my proof that it's really tough to win. If you want to keep trying to tell me it's not THAT tough to win on the team that hasn't won since he's bee there, have at it.

This is gay. The only way to stop GSW was to overcommit to Klay and steph and make Barnes and iggy and green beat you.

Now it's Durant? frick this.

They have two top 5 players and two more top 20.

I'm just going to copy and paste here.

quote:

OKC has been incredibly succesful staying near the top of the WC despite the injuries. They rolled the dice on some scenarios and it didn't work out, but this isn't like they are New Orleans(read bad front office/owner for a long stretches) or Minnesota... Presti catches a lot of flack-mostly for the Harden deal(deserved), but he's pretty damn good GM. They held onto Brooks for too long, sure. Their two best players didn't exactly compliment each other-yes. but throughout the Durant-Westbrook era they acquired talent on cheap contracts and would roll through them hoping on of them hit. They were about to go through one more cycle like this (Orlando trade), but Durant obviously wanted something else. The situation has been just fine in OKC, much better than Cleveland has been run the last 5 years...so it's not an excuse for KD.

so playing in LA today, based on this logic, must be just as tough.

you haven't really said anything.

Scenarios for him to sign? I guess you could argue the Spurs(arguably better "second best" player) or Boston (easier path)...but whatever.

Didn't someone publish a source saying a GM reported he's no longer interested & not gong to "help them out". ? Hope the whole league hands together and makes them keep Bogut.

Cry collusion if you want . Eye for an eye

he has an option. essentially a 1-year deal unless he gets seriously hurt

He will likely retain his Bird-rights with GS because OKC would be stupid not to sign and trade him if him going to GS is a foregone conclusion. Otherwise, they lose him for absolutely nothing. Could you imagine the benefit a $26M trade exception could be for OKC?

In the end, he will get his money. Don't worry.

KD leaves the city that adores him to play for the team he lost to in the Conference Finals?

And I mean it when I say HE lost to them.

That is some serious turncoat shite.

This is Isaiah Thomas joining the Bulls after they came up short.

Weakening your opponent IS making your team better.

Stopping Durant going to GS > > > any Bogut contribution in terms of shot at ring

If Bogut wasn't a valuable piece I could see that butttt he is.

Just looked at their salary cap situation. Iggy, Livingston, Curry, KD, And Bogut all are FAs next offseason. They will lose Bogut and Barnes this season and most likely Iggy next season.

Ezili is up for a big pay raise this season. I assume they resign him. Barbosa is a FA right now. I assume they will try and keep him? He's prob gonna want 10+ mill.

Their starting rotation will be stacked but their bench is about get depleted real fast.

Gonna get real interesting real quick next season.

with 4 elite players, you can still have 2 on the court at all times. They'll be fine imo.
