This move 100% makes sense in terms of KD putting himself in the best position. Anyone who gave LeBron even an ounce of shite about the decision though needs to give way more shite.
LeBron left a team where Mo Williams was the second best player on the team to join a team that would start James Jones his first year there.
KD is leaving a team with Russell Westbrook and now Victor Oladipo. A team that was very likely to be a top two or three contender. He is going to join an already stacked team just won 73 games (and a championship the year before).
I don't care about the decision, so I don't blame KD here. Anyone who did give LeBron shite though better be intellectually honest about how much worse this move is than what LeBron did.
this..... all of it... in fact, i'm requesting a sticky and bookmarking this bitch for future use when people start their anti-lebron rhetoric...

KD is now highest paid player on GS....how does Curry and Thompson feel about that?

it wasn't ok with Miamis owner after winning 2 titles and going 4 straight years soooo we will just have to wait and see. Money talks.

Best 1 year place to park while biding time to get paid next year

To put it plainly, the public doesn't care for people who look like they took the easy way out.
If someone isn't speaking logically, why would you care what they're saying?
Their argument is KD should value winning, but he should make sure he tries to win in a really, really tough situation, and he shouldn't put himself in the best position to win. That sound logical to you?

I'm one of these people, and I agree. KD is an even bigger bitch imo

People can kill players for whatever they want. There is no wrong in that. Just because it's wrong to you doesn't make that a universal fact.

So when does Seattle get their team back?
Posted on 7/4/16 at 11:30 am to shel311
I don't know why you are trying to inject this sense of absolute adherence to logic based reasoning in sports. It's sports. It's literally meaningless without emotion.

the Jordan Paradigm strikes again!
it's funny that i developed this re: LBJ but it applies to KD so perfectly here

Does he have an option next year or is it 2 years solid?

that's simply incorrect

he has an option. essentially a 1-year deal unless he gets seriously hurt

I wouldn't call OKC a really tough tough situation.

Without emotion, is there any money flowing into leagues?

You have a problem with KD making his own decision?
Posted on 7/4/16 at 11:32 am to shel311
Have zero problem with KD leaving. Didn't with LeBron either. Just interested in seeing if he gets the same amount of hate. I doubt it will be close.

I think "the decision" was the biggest problem for LeBron. I don't think Durant really played up the process.
I don't really watch too much of the NBA anyway, but Durant isn't as polarizing as Lebron: not even close actually

They couldn't sign any FAs bc they were over the salary cap. Besides guys on vet mins. That wasn't the issue. They dropped key players, like Mike Miller, bc they didn't want to keep resigning players on bigger contracts making their tax burden even higher.
Also when they time came for all 3 stars to get new contracts they didn't want to sign them all to the contracts they deserved and they wanted them to take even more salary cuts so they wouldn't be in the luxury tax.
I'm not trying to argue just using the Heats situation with Lebron as an example of what can happen to these super teams and you are obviously unaware of what the heat went through salary wise and what the Cavs are currently going through.
