The teams that are going to put forth the best offers though are the teams that know he wants to be there. I could see Boston being the happy medium of a big market where he would be happy plus they have a shite ton of assets.

They’re gonna have to attach a couple of assets to Deng and hope someone like Atlanta bites imo.

Sounds like the reports were true all season, that he feels like he's missing out by being an anonymous Spur, and wants to be a Superstar in a huge market.

Sounds like he wants either LA or NY.

Don't really care about Leonard, just want to see Pop go down in flames.

the spurs have been pretty open about not wanting to trade with the lakers

But if Kawhi wants to team up with Lebron in L.A, he can force that trade. He holds the cards because he can walk after next year and the Spurs won’t get shite in return is he is adamant that he will only sign a contract with the Lakers. Kawhi holds most of the cards

kyle kuzma and/or brandon ingram is a nice package of young players as oppose to getting nothing.

That's what Paul George thought.

we'll see. i dont think he will be in NY because they dont have the trade assets. its going to be the lakers or celtics unless the spurs just say frick it

except the lakers were not motivated to bring in paul last year because they were/are convinced hes coming this year. the lakers will be for kawhi cause they want to make shite come together this summer. different situation

Kawhi controls all this. He's only got a year left on his deal and has to let teams see medicals from a mysterious injury. He'll go where he wants.

The one thing you guys aren't factoring in is Popp.

He might not give a frick about what Kawhi wants, and he might take a lesser package to ship him out East rather than take a better package from the Lakers, just to spite him.

Popp beats to his own drum. I can see that happening.

And he is still gonna probably end up in LA, just one season later. OKC gave up two young players, one of which became an All Star, for a one year rental.

So that actually hurts the Spurs because any team trading for Kawhi has a recent example to look to

Don’t see anyone offering the Spurs a better trade package than the Lakers can if Kawhi is adamant that he wants to go there. The Lakers will gladly give up two of their young players to get him

Philly could offer a better package.

But if he doesn't commit, it's not as doable.

Very true. What were they offering Indiana when PG demanded a trade? Clarkson + picks 27 and 28? Lol.

If getting Kawhi is the first step to then luring Lebron and/or Paul George, I could definitely see Magic pushing all his chips in

i think it was like randle and clarkson plus #28. its funny to look at now but man, randle has had a complete 180 in a year

they will probably offer any two of kuz, lonzo, and ingram and the draft pick and hope that hes serious about wanting LA and hope that the spurs dont deal him somewhere else just to keep him from LA

Fultz/Saric/#10 is about the best they can do since Colangelo made that boneheaded trade last year imo

That’s kinda my point. No one can offer a better trade for what is essentially a one year rental.

The Lakers would be willing to offer some talent because they know they will get a long term contract with Kawhi

No one wants to give up a potential all star and all NBA player for a 1 year player....i.e OKC

Kyrie and a first round pick for Kawhi

Boston lineup:
Rozier
Hayward
Tatum
Leonard
Horford

Bench:Jaylen Brown, Marcus Morris, Baynes, Smart (if he stays) and Greg Monroe

Kyrie can go rack up all-star votes in SA and the Spurs probably find a way to remain relevant with the first round pick.

Irving
Green
Gay
Aldridge
Gasol

Dejounte Murray, Parker and Ginobili off the bench. Salty.
