I guess winning is more important. Our society gets more fricked up each day.

If they sign him it will be for 1000 bucks and a plane ticket, then they can send him to BFE low A ball. They can then judge the reaction to it. If there is major push back then they just cut him and they are out a grand.

Too bad he's not going to the NL where he would have to bat.

In this day and age of virtue signaling they don’t think the blownback would be monstrous?

Good idea. It’s really a unique situation. I can’t ever remember such a talent, esp a pitcher, being unhirable like this. If he had merely sold drugs or even killed someone drunk driving he’d be forgiven.

In context of the post I quoted, which was written around not the kid but the Royals, it's not ridiculous at all. But Knight away. I stand behind my comparison. You do you.

The NFL decided several years ago it was their job to be judge, jury, and executioner.

They decided that regardless of what the courts ruled, it was their job to determine guilt. The NCAA also seems to do this.

I don’t know many fans that really like that methodology.

With that said, I don’t want the MLB to go down that road. Too much does that stuff dominate the headlines. If guilty, he has to live with himself, and he will be judged by a higher power than the courts at some point.

The courts already had their say.

This isn't Roethlisberger or Winston where the league is going off on its own. It's been adjudicated in a court of law.
