This seems like the NBA basically admitting their entire sport is bullshite.

A meaningless regular season followed by 2 months of playoffs so the 2-4 good teams can actually then meet in the conference finals.

all these gimmicks won't change that.

The In season tournament is dumb. The final four thing isn’t that bad.

The tourney could be a fun thing.

Really don't like rewarding the 9th-12th team. You either make top8, or are out.

Midseason tournament
How it would work: The NBA would host an in-season tournament involving all 30 teams between Thanksgiving and Christmas

This sounds fun.

So are we going to pretend like everyone wasn't complaining how the East didn't deserve all of those teams in the playoffs these past few years? But now reseeding is dumb?

Yeah, you have a point. Perhaps reseeding isn't so dumb after all.

I'd imagine it will quickly turn into a time of year where the best players rest and don't play.

The prospect of bitching about how weak two conferences are complete arse intrigues me.

Ratings are down 18%. They're in panic mode
These specific changes have been talked about for years.

It has nothing to do with this year’s ratings.

I don't acfually.

It's usually the insecure who have to call everyone that disagrees with them betas, cucks, snowflakes, etc when the reality is they're only projecting their own weakness onto others.

I thought I was gonna like Silver years ago, when he was positive towards Sportsbetting vocally(unlike Stern's cheeky tongue-in-cheek)..

But, subsequent moves, coupled to China storyline, and now this sh!t..

Globalist Liberal NY sellout fig.

midseason playoffs is an amazing idea dude

Ratings of a basically meaningless regular season are down 18%.

NBA's solution? Add an even more meaningless tournament in the middle of your irrelavent schedule. Brilliant.

Adam Silver....

The sports media talks this guy up like he’s some sort of godly figure. Like he’s the best commissioner in the history of sports. I couldn’t disagree more. This guy is overseeing the real decline of the NBA. He’s a pushover and that’s why the players love him. I love the sport of basketball, but haven’t watched a full NBA game in at least 3 years. These desperate moves aren’t going to attract my attention and change my opinion of what the NBA has become...a player A and player B demanding trades to play with player C league. Over it. This clown doesn’t even refer to the owners as owners anymore...he calls them “governors”....talk about SJW crap

What’s the point of a tournament in the middle of the season? Sounds silly and gimmicky.

It only make sense if there is some king of legit reward for winning it that matters in the post season.

to drum up interest. All they have to do is make those games count towards your record. Just like college. With loser brackets so that everyone plays the same number of games.

Otherwise no team trying to win a championship will take it seriously. And they will rest their players.
