Jordan used to call Bill Cartwright “Medical Bill” because he was injury-prone

Found this in an article about the Last Dance

quote:

Jordan eventually accepted Krause trading his enforcer and friend, Charles Oakley, for Bill Cartwright. But first, he spent a year calling Cartwright “Medical Bill” because he was injury-prone and throwing hard passes at him because he wanted to prove his theory that Cartwright had bad hands.

In the 1987 NBA draft, Krause drafted Horace Grant instead of Joe Wolf, a Dean Smith favorite who played at Jordan’s alma mater, North Carolina. Jordan called Grant a dummy, to his face, for years.

Jordan preferring Joe Wolf to Horace Grant was a foreshadowing of MJ's time as a GM.

One thing I’ve noticed: Watching MJ say these things to people is different than reading the quotations

He’s so charismatic he can insult you and make you laugh simultaneously.

The clear weak link of that starting unit but he knew all of Ewing's tricks and all that and he wasn't a total scrub so a solid asset to that team

I have to imagine that's most of it, that he's breaking your balls more than anything.

Otherwise, we would have had a lot of stories of people beating Mike's arse or something. This was still the era when Jordan was kind of a twig.

Seriously. Him and pippen insulting Krause all the time and it sounds like playful banter.

Jordan was REALLY insecure about Pippen having a bigger dick

quote:

There’s also locker-room talk — the real kind. Once, Jordan, Pippen, and Grant argued about which one of their young sons had a bigger penis. "They eventually agreed it was Pippen’s," Smith drolly reported.

i was wrong. Scottie wins both personally and via progeny

Eh, there's the Robert Parish story:

Parish recalled. ‘At that point he told me, “I’m going to kick your arse.” I took one step closer and said, “No, you really aren’t.” After that he didn’t bother me.’

He definitely fought Steve Kerr and sucker punched Will Perdue. I mean, a dude like Jerry Krause wasn't fighting MJ no matter what.
