And a google search shows they were ranked #2 in the highest class in florida before that.

They typically don't have very many big time D1 prospects, just run their system to perfection with good athletes. I believe an offensive lineman and DB are verbals to Tulane, not positive.

It's amazing how well-oiled that machine is

I dont know where Tampa Plant ranks over there(I think they won state last year), but Curtis absolutely skull fricked them.

they were the 8A champs last year.

their enrollment is probably 2,500+

Curtis is less than 500

Do ya'll think Curtis will ever be able to move up and compete in 4A again?

I wonder, if given the opportunity, JT would want to play in 5A. I dont know why the LHSAA wont let them play up anymore. Would be fun to see them go up against the big boys week in and week out

Because a handful of public school principals in 4A and 5A got tired of Curtis and Evangel beating them so they bitched and whined until the rules were changed.

So now, unlike every other state where public and private schools compete, LHSAA forces schools to play at their actual enrollment instead of using a multiplier for private schools.

That's pretty much right. I remember watching some epic Evangel/WM championship games in the Dome.

I know they USED to use a multiplier for the same sex schools. Dunno if they still do.

I know that JC is a private school that recruits athletes, while Plant is a public school. JC has won over 20+ state titles & pretty much runs y'alls state, while Plant didn't even win a state championship until 2006. Plant has also been around for much longer.....so you do the math.

P.S. I also "know" the difference between no & know

When trying to rank teams based on the current year I always like to refer back to 6 years ago as well.
