Welp, looks like there will be a game 7. All of it bodes very poorly for the Spurs.
Right.... Cause it's not like Joey's crew has fouled LeBron out of two playoff games before on terrible calls... Oh wait! Also, in the game Joey called this series, Heat had 17 fouls and Spurs had 14, but let the idiots start excuses now

Sure. Yes, NBA officials rotate during playoff series. It's pretty obvious from this thread and if you have ever watched the NBA playoffs.

Thank you. I don't really watch basketball and wasn't aware of the circumstances.

That wasn't so hard was it?

I guess it took until game 6 for the fix to be called in. The Spurs weren't supposed to make it a series and they sure weren't supposed to go up 3-2. Chairman Stern can't let that stand.

You do know referee assignments are made before the series starts, right?

Is this real? Do people really believe this? Like i said earlier, Lebron has fouled out only twice ever, both to Joey Crawford on awful calls. Also, in the Crawford called game earlier in this series, the Heat had more fouls then the Spurs. As a neutral observer, Heat/LeBron fans are actually pretty level headed, it is the haters that are obnoxious whiners

Sorry but only the NBA would allow a ref who nearly was kicked out of the game because of a player to come in and ref a critical Finals game for that same player. Is it that hard for the NBA to pick refs that don't have a significant controversial history with either team?

Don't get me wrong, the better team will win either way. Champions don't give a flip about officiating, they overcome. It's just annoying that the NBA allows for it to be a storyline as though this is the WWE.

In terms of the game itself I don't think Crawford is going to try to call it one way or another. I do think it will be hard for the teams playing to ignore his presence though. No way Duncan can just act like he doesn't care. If Lebron also hates Crawford as the only guy to foul him out that is also a distraction. As I said, they have to overcome it and can't blame losing on refs for either team it's just stupid the NBA allows it to be an issue at all.

I understand and dont necessarily disagree with what you are saying. I just cant help but notice the people already complaining are those who are rooting against the Heat. Also, the refs for playoffs are chosen by in season ratings given by the coaches. So obviously the coaches feel most comfortable with crawford

Money on the Spurs, but sure, call me a Heat fan
ETA: I'm a Pelicans fan, so i chose not to jump on either teams bandwagon, guess we can't say the same about everyone...

I'm betting that Pop didn't rank Crawford that high.

I get it, I just still think it is foolish. Why allow for any level of conflict of interest from a ref in a Finals game? You would think there are only 20 guys in the world capable of reffing NBA basketball and yet amongst those 20 you have more controversy and inconsistency than any other sports.

I mean Crawford is the most controversial ref for both teams and yet they are about to have him ref his 2nd game in the series. Really? Is there no one else? Who would have thought there were fewer old white guys that ref basketball than elite NBA basketball players! I hate that in the NBA I can name at least half a dozen officials without batting an eye. I couldn't name a single NFL ref and only know a couple of NCAA refs in spite of spending about 100X more focus on those sports. The NBA seems to relish having their refs as part of the show, that's where the WWE comparisons come from.
