Joe Pa will pull a Bear Bryant, imo.

Nick told Joe to keep the seat warm one more year.

Absolutely. Penn St's recruiting this year has been a disaster.

He'll die in 2 years while coaching at the Shoe.

Don't say that.

Joe, if you're gonna kick the bucket do it in Happy Valley for fricks sake.

We'll postpone the rest of the game until Sunday, bring the back-hoe out to the 50 yard line and just bury you there in the evening.

I wasn't aware that when Bear Bryant retired he was asked what he will do now. He replied, "Probably croak within a week."

He died four weeks later. Wow.

Unfortunately what I was thinking. It seems to happen with dedicated professionals from all walks of life.

I'd be more surprised if he would retire than if he continued to coach

I guess he's gotten too old to truly enjoy much of his retirement years so he's basically said "frick it what else am I going to do with my time?"

Right, because you can certainly control something like that.

I think this is one of the reasons he does not really want to retire. I can imagine how that would creep into the back of his mind

At least this doesn't get as much coverage on ESPN as the Favre saga.....although they both like to over-stay their welcome!!!!

Joe Pa should have retired when he was top back in 2005. Beating Bobby Bowden in his final game at the Orange Bowl would have been the ultimate storybook ending.
