before I start up this 6 episode docuseries, have any members of the MSB watched it and how good is it? I wasn't born until 87 so I was really young during his dominant era

The Saints had some really good teams in the 80s but couldn’t even win the division bc of the 49ers.

He really was Joe. Seen him knocked out of games but never seen him rattled. This is why IMO he will always be rated higher than Brady on my list.

Joe Montana was awesome. But he had Roger Craig, Dwight Clark, Jerry Rice, John Taylor, Tom Rathman at FB, awesome OL, and good defenses. Their teams were loaded to the max.

Some average arse players there besides Rice. He had Walsh's offense and Rice.

Joe Montana may be the best name in sports history.

He won two Super Bowls before Rice was even drafted.

That game where he was sacked like 9 times and hit constantly vs Philadelphia then came back to win it was one of the most incredible things I’ve ever seen.

Tom Rathman at FB
I randomly met his wife one night in BR. Probably about 1998 or so, she was out in a bar and I started talking to her. She quickly let me know her husband was Tom Rachman. That conversation quickly changed direction at that point.

I'm on E2 and they just showed the Saints up 35-3 at halftime and the 49ers came back and won.
The different ways they play the song "Under Pressure" is absolutely incredible.

Man them highlights bring up some memories. I hated the 49ers but I respected them. Montana seems to me to have been the first QB that made it trendy to step up in the pocket to avoid the rush. Until him I don't think anyone really did that. I know it isn't popular opinion but I think he was the best and it isn't exactly close.
