Are YOU a TOUGH GUY??? Have YOU ever slapped A woman???????
Taking an ideal principle, and making it an absolute standard with no exceptions is just intellectually lazy; it's the same reasoning as "zero tolerance" and "mandatory minimums." And lazy reductionism to some absolute usually has some severe consequences for the undeserving exceptions to the principle.

The fact that he is still playing college football is a problem. A serious problem.

Never ever hit a woman, regardless of circumstances?

Every decision we make has some inherent risk, and even if we make a decision with 99.999% probability of nothing negative happening every single time--a hundred times a day--that 0.001% risk, with enough decisions, has a reasonable expectation of happening sometime.

He did Knock her out but only after she made contact twice with him. She aggressively pushed him and then struck him in the face. See the entire event actually changes my opinion about the situation. I believe it is wrong to hit a woman. I was under the impression he hit some random girl. See how she made contact twice alters my view.
If he would have continued to hit her after then I would have had a big issue with it. Although it was solid punch, it appeared to be more reactionary. If the same act occurred between two men, no one says anything.
I personally believe it is absolutely wrong to hit a woman under any circumstance. It can be argued that he was justified defending himself. Just speaking from a legal perspective not a moral perspective.

He only hit her once and left after. She was not cornered and she had a group of people with her compared to him being solo. Mere words do not justify a battery. She initiated contact twice before he made contact. Prior to his contact, she started to become even more aggressive. I can make a legal argument (not a moral argument) this was self defense under Louisiana law. I am not familiar with Oklahoma law though.

Pretty weak shite there, Joe. She was in the wrong to push him, but Joe bowed up to her and escalated the situation until she half arse "hit" him.
No excuse to strike her like that.
No excuse to strike her like that.

I know it's a team board, but when you see a guy full force hit a random woman, that's completely crazy to defend. He knocked her out cold, and broke four bones in her face. And his punishment was a red shirt and a misdemeanor? fricking insane.

Love your inside info but you're out your damn mind.
You're a lawyer. You should know about reasonableness of response.

Not a chance. You'd get murdered.

Why would he go up to come random girl and just hit them? That just sounds stupid.

Peej. Say you're in a hotel and this bitch clocks you upside the damn head with a table. After you get back to your feet(which might never happen) she comes at you like a polar bear and starts mauling your arse.
You ain't gonna knock that bitch out?
