I was wondering how so many Burrow fans would reconcine this when I read the thread title, and it appears they've gone with just deny this ever happened "just cause"

Yeah they’re predictable

Burrow is a college educated guy in his 20s who plays a sport filled with mostly black men. It’s very possible he at least leans left a little as do most people in his demographic. In addition he was pretty vocal during the whole BLM thing. More so then even most white NFL players.

Seriously. If your reaction to Joe Burrow standing up for a teammate is OMG GEORGE FLOYD WAS A CRIMINAL F ESPN AND THEIR AGENDA JOE BURROW IS A KISSASS AND HE IS DEAD TO ME, you have serious mental and anger issues and need to step away from the Poliboard and come back to the real world.

Some of them that are soooooo far to one extreme put themselves in these echo chambers, and they eventually become so distorted from reality that they think everyone or the vast majority of people think exactly like they do but the truth is they're in the extreme minority, much like people that do the same exact thing but on the other side.

The actual majority of us are so far from those extremes and just laugh at both sides.

There isn't a goddamn thing wrong with Joe having empathy for a teammate and sharing that story with his team, and you frick faces on here that have a problem with that are what's wrong with this fricking country.

I’d be disappointed if Joe didn’t stand up for this buddy. It’s all the article really says. And even if he’s a bigger supporter of people’s rights then that’s that. Funny how Joe is the perfect bad arse winning everything dude but if his politics doesn’t align then the whole formula just doesn’t compute in many feeble little heads. Shouldn’t matter.

Go rams then I guess.

Because Joe Burrow told a story that indicated he understood racism.

Remarkable.

Burrow decided to address the team by telling a personal story about the racial injustice a Black teammate experienced during their high school basketball days growing up in Athens, Ohio. During one game, Burrow said, people in the stands yelled racial slurs at the friend. Burrow described feeling shaken and upset during the game, and what it felt like afterward as the two of them sat in the back of the team bus. Burrow vowed to fight against such behavior for the rest of his life.

I mean is this all it takes to get a puff piece? I’m pretty sure just about everyone on here would be pissed if their buddy was taunted and discriminated against. Just a weird article.

The fact that this has 60 down votes to 20 up votes tells you all you need to know about 75% of the posters on here.

It’s way more than 75%. You have to factor in that it’s Joe Burrow, so a lot of people on here are just trying to ignore that Joe likes the black people and supports their causes.

Their little brains can’t handle losing Joe to the other side. Their hearts would break and brains would melt. So they have to ignore things like this to stay sane.

Personally, I hope Burrow goes all the way with this so I can watch everyone who has propped him up as a god turn on him.

I mean to say something like some of you are saying then it makes you racist. How can it be anything else?

It’s a business decision. If you were working with 80% black men for the next 20 years and needed their buy-in, this is an easy low hanging fruit to get their loyalty

Maybe it’s just him telling them something he thought they needed to hear. He doesn’t know what they have or haven’t been through. The media makes it seem like they here the shite all day everyday

I swear to God, the biggest group of hypocrites that exist on the planet today.

I remember seeing a video of angry white people getting up in police faces and getting physical with police cause a pandemic hit and we were told to wear a mask out in public. Lost their fricking minds.

100% those people were all Blue Lives Matter when it came to the other protests that were happening at the same time.

Comments like that and much worse get said all the time on here, and represents how a large majority of people on here feel. Then they all act like they not racist and the racism debate is dumb and not real.

This site is basically a far-right groupthink bubble. I’ve been saying for years that if random people stumbled upon this site, they would read a couple threads and wonder what the frick was going on here.

I know the term 'melting' is thrown around pretty liberally on this site lately, but in this case...
