The players union isnt going to allow him to take a lowball contract.

That dumb narrative needs to stop

Can't do shite, if Joe would do something like that. NFLPA is a joke, run by concussed retards, which is why the Owners win every lock out/strike

Yeah it never happens

The Tampa Bay Buccaneers restructured Tom Brady's contract to clear cap space ahead of next week's draft.

The Bucs turned Brady's base salary into a signing bonus and added voidable years on the back end, NFL Network Insider Ian Rapoport reported Friday, per a source informed of the situation. The move created $9 million in cap space.

In a deal turned into the NFL office Monday, quarterback Tom Brady restructured his contract to give the New England Patriots $24 million more in cash to spend this offseason, according to league sources.

To be fair burrow said he would restructure his deal to free up cap space. It just hasn't happened up to this point.

Brady was unique was he took guaranteed money off the table to basically reach free agency faster

Do you know what a lowball contract is?

Brady never took one. He took more money upfront to free up cap space. I love how the general fan thinks the player is being altruistic when they restructure. All it is is them taking all their money upfront. It’s better for them

Joe just needs to stay healthy.

He had a couple of really bad decisions/throws last week.

It happens. It’s even happened over the years to the great QBs who have had a fantastic supporting cast around them.

lol. Wow. It’s ok, man, your boy wanted to get paid and he wanted highly paid WR too. It came at the expense of everything else.

Joe is a whiny arse. He lost the game last week. He wasn’t available for the previous 8. Hopefully he can sum up the courage to pick some fruity arse costume to treat going to the stadium as a New York run way fashion show. It appears he has changed a lot since his days at lsu.

Go back and look at Brady’s time in New England. He was consistently taking below market deals and left a lot on the table to secure better role players

Damn, lol.

Don’t hold back, how do you really feel?

I like Joe but that’s just me.

Twice in NE Brady took new deals making him the highest paid player. The Brady “took a discount” is the biggest fan fiction ever

I don’t even know how this myth started … Brady wasn’t never not in the top 4 QB’s in compensation

How long was he the highest paid player? Because he deserved to be such for longer

Thats never how it works. Before this season Josh Allen was around the 16th highest paid QB, now he is 1st

In a few years he will be outside the top 5 again

Currently Mahomes is 15th and Stafford 16th. “Hometown discounts” I guess

You’re just wrong. He signed one record setting 4 year deal in 2010 and restructured it often. He was the greatest ever and only briefly the highest paid. He trails Aaron Rodgers in total earnings, even though he played 23 seasons and made nearly $100MM in the final 3.

Much has been written about it. It is estimated he left $60-100MM on the table. Feel free to respond with analysis to the contrary, I doubt you’ll find many articles claiming he was paid at full market value.

1. He was a 6th round pick. He is always going to be behind guys from back then who were drafted in the top rounds

2. The start of his career he was not like others.

From 2010 onward Brady was top 5 in QB earnings, exactly where he should have been

Also

2010–2012 extension:
• Made Brady the highest-paid player in the NFL
2013 contract often cited as a “discount”:
• Still paid him top-5 QB money in real cash
• Included guarantees and fast payout structure
2016–2019 extensions:
• Brady ranked top 3–6 in average annual value
• Continually renegotiated to stay near the top of the QB pay scale

From 2000-2019 only Peyton manning made more cash earnings than Brady
