I see this hire working very similarly to the hiring of Steve Nash for the Nets.

why not Jason Kidd for the Mavs?

he failed at the Nets too and now he's in the finals

Well, yeah, Kidd failed first, and second. This is JJ’s first gig and he is another easy scapegoat for the stars if/when they don’t succeed. You think players like LeBron and AD are going to listen to JJ Reddick with no coaching experience at all?? No way, he is there simply as yes man to the real coach and GM of the team in LeBron.

What do you mean?

I’m going by the fact that JJ Redick is the first and only person LeBron has ever chosen to do a podcast series with as strong evidence that they clearly get along.

This doesn’t mean that this is going to be a home run hire, that the Lakers are going to be much improved, or anything else.

But if someone wants to criticize the hire, it’s bc the Lakers are looking to hire a friend and associate of LeBron, not that they will clash and dislike each other.

NBA coaches are pointless

The winning teams have coaches in control and players falling in line.

The rest if the keafye sucks with zero coach respect

I had my doubts but seeing the msb against it means it most likely works out.

They've done it already when they hired Magic as their head coach. Dude quit after a short span of sucky games. I think he even called the players out on his way out.

That's the point of my post. Buss is running that team like a country club, instead of putting an emphasis into winning. The covid title was BS, and everyone knows it. Her old man wouldn't think to consider hiring that jackass. Yes, Mark Jackson and Kerr were 1st time coaches. Did they have to deal with those types of egos on the Lakers? Absolutely not. I'm not even a Laker fan, but if I were, I'm totally against it.

KC Jones has told stories where he draws up plays for the Celtics during timeouts, especially at the the end of games...

And Larry Bird would roll his eyes and tell the coach, "just give me the ball and tell everyone else to get out the way.". That's the NBA...So it doesn't really matter who LeBron's coach is.

Appears Jeannie Buss is taking the cheap route on a VERY questionable hire
