Somebody doesn't know NBA rules.

Harden and Daryl Morey are two guys who have studied the rules of this league and used them to their advantage, and everyone hates them for it. It's pretty entertaining. Long gone are the days of Allen Iverson and player GMs.

That is beyond pathetic. He must have gotten in his forcefield.

Shaq and Jet disagrees. But both of them agreed he was top 5 all time. like I said the praise that is gonna be heaped on hardwn this postseason is just getting started. Get used to it. This is hardwns time.

Again, Rockets fans need to pump the brakes after last night's performance. They barely beat a mediocre Timberwolves team with their best player being basically a ghost and Harden/Capella going off. Still only won by 3 against said team at home.

People act like Harden just sucked every game in the playoffs to get his reputation. He has sucked when it matters and the pressure is on against a team worth a damn, not a team like the T-Wolves.

He gathers on the first step that you are counting. Then he takes two legal steps to back up. Harden studied the rules, and put TONS of gym time to get the timing down. But players have used the move historically as well. I will concede that I've seen Harden miss the timing from time to time and refs miss it because they trust him.

It's the same reason that refs almost never call traveling on a lay-up. It's routine and the last thing they are looking for from a professional. And no ref wants to be the guy to call a travel and be wrong.

the ball fake at the 3 point line foot shuffle that gets called all the time doesn't give the player and advantage the way the sunday stroll away from the defender plays to Harden's advantage.

What I took from last night's game was that the Rockets are in trouble. Twolve's best weapon does almost nothing and they refuse to run their offense through him, Capela and Harden both have huge nights, and the Rockets still need stupid play after stupid play by the TWolves to win at home by 3.
Really? Because I have an opposite take.

Nobody could hit a 3 last night for the Rockets besides Harden. That's extremely rare for this team. Outside of Harden, the team shot 3 for 25 from three for 12%.

That's unlikely to continue. If the role players shot just 6 of 25 for 24%, that would be 9 extra points and they would have won by 12 instead of 3. When the Rockets were leading in the game by 11 points, that would have been a 20 point lead.

Not only that, but Chris Paul might have played his worst game as a Rocket. That's also unlikely to repeat.

They are likely to not lose a game til they meet GSW. Although I will give OKC - UTA one win for common courtesy.

This series - sweep
Next - sweep or 5 gamer.

He exaggerated the contact for sure, but you're also not allowed to put your arm on a player the way Butler did. It was unneeded, and unfortunately also the correct call.

you are wrong. You are not allowed to put your hand on someone, but you can have your forearm om them without extending it once it is there. It’s how they teach young kids to play defense in the post these days.

The problem is that what players like Harden will do is sweep the ball around and get his arms tangled in the defenders forearm and throwing up the ball allowing himself free throw attempts. It is something I hope the NBA somehow changes in the future. That kind of call is rarely called as much as in highschool/college.

Another point about how bad their 3-point shooting was last night...

They only had 5 games all year where they shot worse than the 27% they shot last night. They were 3 and 2 in those games.

And it wasn't that Minnesota was defending the 3 well... they were missing open looks.

Again, this is with the Wolves overall playing like shite too. That is what is so hilarious. I thought the Rockets would win comfortably because of the injuries the Wolves have dealt with, but even with that advantage they struggled. So yes, Gordon and others struggled, but part of that was defense. Wolves won't be as bad either going forward, so yes, it makes a difference, but not in the big picture.

You said it yourself... "in the post". It is a foul if you do it above the free throw line extended.

The Wolves averaged 107 points against the Rockets during the regular season. The Rockets averaged 123 points against the Wolves during the regular season.

So again, who performed below their average more?

Watching the Harden step back shot just makes it more frustrating to me when he does the stupid shite to draw fouls.

He has the skill set to be very entertaining, but doesn't always rely on that. He could be one of the most exciting players to watch, but sadly he isn't IMO.
