I thought he was playing pretty decent when he was with the hawks this past year. Would be surprised if he doesn't get picked up. But at least now asians have Rui Hachimura hype to look forward to.

But still, you've earned $65 million and have a ring.

At no point should you ever use the term "rock bottom" to describe your life situation

Wait what? frick those people.

thats it right there.

Plus his agent probably told him to go for millions instead of minimum and pile another year on his retirement package.

Perspective.

Play a game you love.
Make $800,000 and add a valuable year onto year retirement.

His wife was also Asian, which is why the whole thing was ridiculous.

Linsanity was unexpected and it didn't last.

He made $65 million and I’m sure he invested it wisely, and he probably banged Lucy Liu, so yeah I don’t feel sorry for him.

We paid him pretty well in Houston. I really loved watching him drive inside and jump up in the air and then try to figure out who to pass it to. Brutal.

Could someone with a better knowledge of the NBA CBA/Salary Cap explain something for me. Could Lin sign a contract roughly equivalent to what a second round draft pick would sign or does a team have to pay him a minimum amount well above that if they want to sign him since he has several years of experience in the league?

Lin has 9 years service in the NBA so i believe at a minimum he has to make what it says in this article
Now this has probably changed in 2019-20

LINK

Years Salary
0 $838,464
1 $1,349,383
2 $1,512,601
3 $1,567,007
4 $1,621,415
5 $1,757,429
6 $1,893,447
7 $2,029,463
8 $2,165,481
9 $2,176,260
10+ $2,393,887
