Memphis should tell the NCAA to stick themselves with an AIDS needle and play him anyway.

Wiseman has been declared ineligible since the start of his senior season in high school. Court injunctions are the only thing that has let him play.

I agree. They were already doing this and should just double down and keep playing him. And now they're saying his high school might have to forfeit their hardware. What a joke

The whole thing hinges on Penny being deemed a UofM booster in perpetuity by the NCAA for donating a million dollars to the University in 2008.

This is a case of the NCAA wanting to do something and twisting their by laws to make it happen. Like strict liability, this will never be used on another school again.

Players like Wiseman are supposed to pick the right schools. This sends future 5 stars a message.

That’s really weird because I did too.

I guess my mind is defaulted to think Jameis fricks up.

Memphis has bungled this situation badly if they are now bending over for the NCAA.

I mean none of their wins from the season would count, but could they be left out of the tourney too or would that not be decided till years later.

He literally paid his family to move to Memphis. Even if Penny didn't become the HC at Memphis, him going to Memphis would still be an issue. Penny wouldn't have paid for chess savant to move to Memphis, now would he?

No it isn’t. The NCAA is bending over for Memphis. Memphis and the NCAA have struck a deal in negotiations. You watch, the NCAA will rule him out for 8-10 games and then he will be allowed to join the team and he has to payback the $11500 for moving expenses.

I think its the opposite. Supposedly the NCAA would not agree to terms with an open lawsuit. Wiseman still has the opportunity to re-open the law suit if they do not like the settlement.

Lot of folks are speculating 8 games with the 2 exhibition counting as time served. Back in time for the UT game which I think is all Penny cares about.

That’s great till they don’t schedule you a game in the tournament.

That's when you just show up and declare "We got winner."

Unless you are still playing like you did Tuesday night, in which case, you might not wanna do that.

We stood up to the NCAA for its bullshite and got a minimal suspension.

Yeah, but I'd like to see him back in time for NC State, if not Ole Miss.

Question is, will they have to forfeit the games he played in?

I wonder if Suge Knight is available as an analyst or consultant.
