I actually watch the games and don't look at the box score at the end. He is the only viable option to score on that rockets team. They have a very balanced attack with numerous player averaging between 8-15 points. Those guys you mentioned play with other superstars on their team.

Lebron sure had to fight off Boobie Gibson and Larry Hughes for touches.

So it is a bad thing that Harden doesn't play with great offensive talent yet he still puts up efficient numbers on one of the best offenses in the league?

Wait. What?

Do you not realize that it is easier to score when you have other stars on your team?

Kevin durant, kobe, and lebron all get those stats while having to share the ball with other superstars. Harden does not (if you say lin il fricking stab you).

Harden has been incredibly efficient WITHOUT another superstar by his side. What does that tell you?

He is the best player on his team?

Russell Westbrook is the PG and Durant could play small forward, yet James Harden didn't start. What does that tell you?

Is this going to go the same as when you told us the Thunder can sign Al Jefferson this offseason without cutting salary?

Ok, in no particular order: Lebron, Wade, Anthony, CP3, Kobe, Durant. Is he better than any of these guys?

first off..yes im a Houston fan.

That being said, I think Lebron, Durant, CP3 and Kobe are in a league of their own. I would have no problem putting Harden anywhere after that..and yes..even ahead of Melo. Harden does almost everything good...he passes, rebounds, gets to the basket..hits the 3, plays solid D. The only negative would be turnovers i guess. but when you drive to the hoop as often as he does...its gonna happen.

Stopped reading after this. Can a non Houston fan honestly say they think Harden is top 5 in the NBA?

I don't think anyone is arguing that Harden is DEFINITELY a top 5 player, but it's not at all ridiculous to say that he's close to that level.

yeah it's way easier to shoot and score as much as you want when you have two other guys wanting to take 20 shots a game

I'm not saying harden isn't good. kid is definitely a stud but to say he is in the top 5 is incredibly stupid.. could he be there soon? sure. but he isn't right now

Kevin love was putting up similar numbers on a mediocre team last year. you don't see anyone saying he is top 5 now do you?
