New York Knicks owner James Dolan is “courting offers” for the franchise, The Ringer’s Bill Simmons said on a recent podcast (via Forbes).

“Multiple people told me this, who know things. James Dolan is courting offers for the Knicks,” Simmons said. “It’s happening. It’s on. It’s go-time. He’s courting offers for the Knicks. That’s what I heard at All-Star weekend from people I trust.”

The Knicks exit the All-Star break with the league’s worst record at 11-47.

“This is what I’ve pieced together. [Dolan] really cares about the buildings and the in-game/in-concert experience,” Simmons said. “And he wants to put even more money into that,” Simmons explained. “The Knicks are just a pain in the a–, people s–t on him for it. He feels if he can just sell the Knicks for some crazy price, then he can put the money into that music/in-game experience stuff that he cares about. So, the Knicks are available.”

It's been discussed in the media for an entire year that he was looking to sell.

Can't happen soon enough

A well run Knicks franchise could drastically change the landscape of the NBA

The lesson might be that the in game experience is better when your team doesn't suck.

I guess we need to see what tech billionaire is looking for assets right now.

We going to end up with the New York Zuckerbergs?

Shame it's not 17 years ago and winning a record lottery would cover buying the Knicks like in Joeys dream on Friends

I’ll wait until Zach Lowe or Woj say something.

I agree. All he will have left is the billions of dollars he got from the sale. Poor guy

Hell also still have his band.

Although without the garden I don’t think he’ll be booking many gigs

i still don't understand how someone so respected like Phil Jackson was such a failure.

Being good in one phase does not guarantee you're good in another.

Jackson was a great HC, not so much as a GM. Much like Jordan was a great player and has been bad as an owner/GM.

Makes you appreciate Pat Riley excelling as a coach and as a GM.

Sounds like homeboy wants to keep the Garden.

Yeah, that's how I read it. He's going to have a hell of a time selling the Knicks if MSG isn't included in the sale.
