I'm not a Jameis fan, but if you listen to the audio it isn't near as bad as it reads. He was somewhat joking around when he said girls need to be gentle. He was saying that to provide a contrast that the boys need to yell louder.
If you reversed the situation and a black female athlete had said all of that, it isn't a story.
