i think the fact that he sounds country as frick throws them off. it did with JR. i loved watching people hear JR speak for the first time

Yeah he understands football and that's cool cause he will make millions, but I can see a shady agent hustling him.

Watching the combine yesterday, I thought he was heads and tails better than every other QB there, including Mariota. If his knowledge is competent, and he can cut out the off-field drama (not having substance issues helps), he will a great pro quarterback.

I think he may well turn out great.
That said, I think the people who express concerns about him are concerned with the wrong thing. Character? Meh. It may end up a problem.
BUT, if I had to say what I'd worry about with Winston it would be this. Does the dude plan to stay in fricking shape? I mean, um, dude is 21 and is already looking soft. Sure, he appears to have lost weight for the combine but, if a 21 year old is having that hard of a time avoiding looking 35, one has to worry about when he puts on a few more years.
Not saying it's a catastrophic worry, but, it's not meritless either.

I would take Winston #1 with no regrets.
If the sexual assault issue e3nds up being nothing, then I have no problem with him.
shite, I have yelled worse things than, "frick her right in the pussy," in a public place.
Stealing crab legs is not great, but it is not a huge red flag to me.

Are these the same scouts that recommended Ryan Leaf, Akili Smith and others?

Russell legitimately sounded like a retard. I remember watching the OSU/LSU BCSCG and they interviewed him and Troy Smith on the sideline together. Difference was night and day. Subtitles were needed to understand Russell.

I just don't get why people think luck is so smart and Winston is a moron. Dude is obviously a tard in social aspects of life. But he's obviously extremely smart in football. But because he's a big black goon there is "no chance" he's really smart.
I guess the message board guys know more that football scouts and executives. Would these guys be saying they are blown away as a giant troll? Doubtful
I'm not a Winston fan at all just don't get why people think they know how much he knows about football

As a general rule a graduate of Stanford is going to have a higher level of intelligence than a drop-out from FSU?

Didn't Sherman graduate from Stanford?

Well Jameis was an ACC Academic All American

I love how upset people get over Jameis. No one wants him to be good, and it kills them that he is good.

That's the most succinct statement to describe what's going on with him and the public. Couldn't have said it better.
I hope he is good, just to see how bent out of shape everyone gets.

Yes, and he is probably light years smarter than Jameis Winston as well.

Even a great QB needs the right situation. Great teams are great not because they have the best athletes or football players. Coaching, management, culture and other things play a huge role too. It's what everyone has to keep in mind when we're making blanket statements like, "He will be a bust".

I wonder if his seafood knowledge is on par with his football knowledge

Like I used to say with Ryan11, football smart but life stupid. Except with Jameis it's probably more life dumb. I think he can grow out of some of the things he does. Maybe not the rapiness though.
