I guess that big salary they will eat it? Can they not negotiate a new contract and trade him? And would anyone take a flyer on him if he is released?

Would be the best thing for him. Would give him a reality check and get him out of Oakland.

Unfortunately for JR, all the talking heads on the NFL Network said they wouldn't pay him more than the minimum salary.

Shocking, they had the same opinion of JR as all the "idiots" on the Rant.

$9.5m each of the next two years. The only reason to do it is to free up cap space for 2011 (assuming they're going to be even close to what the ceiling is), because I'm pretty sure that $19m over the next 2 years is guaranteed.

Last fall everyone gave me shite for saying that Matt Flynn making it as the backup QB over Brian Brohm insured that LSU would be represented by two #2 QB's in the NFL.

JR might have the bigger contract, but which one would you want as a backup? The hard working Flynn or the under-achieving, unmotivated Russell?

I'm taking Flynn.

the ESPN crew has stated Jamarcus isnt going anywhere because he's only owed 3M next year.

I think he's talented enough to justify keeping around for that year. Maybe Jason coming in will light a fire under his arse. If he actually applied himself he could compete for the job. It's not like Campbell is a pro bowl caliber QB.

that should tell you something, more like you were the idiot. Anyone can see the guy had a bundle of talent, but never worked hard and took his talent for granted, he should have led LSU to another NC in his time. He had 3 talented WR's that made him look better than he was, that is why his damn college numbers were so good, it had nothing to do with him reading defenses because now you can see that was a FAIL.

If I were Payton I would put him on the depth chart behind Brees. It ain't like you wouldexpect him to play and you would have good people actually trying to develop him. He could then become great trade bait down the road.
