It makes the least sense for a franchise like the Celtics. If this was for the Pels, I could see him getting a tribute. I'm with Pierce on this. Even Rondo was questioning the tribute while he was there a few nights ago.

Jalen just highlighted the weird "Banana Boat" double standard in the NBA. Chris Paul deserves one for his time with the Clippers but not IT with the Celts???

Look, the Celtics fricked this up by listening to IT by not doing something when he first came back (IT didn’t want it because he wasn’t playing). Believe it or not, he meant something to that franchise and the Celtic fanbase the 3 years he was there. I think it would have been cool if Pierce just said... c'mon let's be celebrated together as Celtics.

pierce is such an overrated tit. In his mind he is some legend. He was an above avg player who got two big time players on his team to carry him.

I don’t think it’s a big deal but he kinda comes off as a bride wanting to be princess for the day. Nobody should get my attention... it’s my special day.
If IT doesn’t get a short tribute video, then I’m sure he’ll find a way to console himself in piles of money.

This. I don't understand either why they are giving IT a tribute. He was only there for a couple seasons. I honestly think they are only doing it because of his sister dying last year. They feel some sort of obligation. But this is a the Boston Celtics, they shouldn't be doing this for a 2 season player. Pierce was drafted by them, won a championship with them. He is also in the top of most of the team records all time. No reason for them to share the night.

The only reason they are giving IT a tribute video is because his sister died. And that's a terrible reason to even do it. If it was the Hawks or Pelicans, maybe. But the Celtics?
