Far closer to a "unfortunate accident" than "awful takeout slide".
Almost what we used to call 'baseball' for most of my life.

Dude clearly had a route to the plate that didn’t involve running Lucroy over. Should be out, fine, and suspension. Of course douchebag bandwagon Astros fans are going to stick up for their boy. Houston is full of trash. No surprise

All these rules are so much bullshite. It’s actually real simple.
Ask yourself why don’t second basemen block second on a steal?
Because you don’t f’ng need to in order to tag someone out. Stand off to the side or behind the plate like field players do at second and third.
Let them block the plate, let them get run over. I don’t care. They are getting hurt because they are making a stupid play. They should win a stupid prize

The big step right and then left is enough to absolve him from any “dirty” claims that people throw his way. He wasn’t trying to obliterate the catcher.
It’s unfortunate that he and the catcher both went pretty low and towards the infield.

The catcher is clearly outside of the basepath and the runner clearly seeks out the collision. Only Astros fans believe otherwise. That was a bush league play.

LOL that was definitely Marsinick wanting to take out the catcher... dude was out of the base path to get his hit in.

The catcher starts out on the field side of the line. He never even leans left. Astros fans gonna act like Astros fans, I guess.

After the game, Lucroy was gonna drive to Lafayette to his old college coach's wake. Now in hospital with broken nose and concussion. Marisnik should get one in earhole next time!

Let me direct your attention to this post from earlier in the thread by a noted Ranger fan and Astro-hater:

Not sure what Marisnick is supposed to do there unless you want him to concede the out
If McCaig-baw doesn't think it was dirty, then that's good enough for me.

Overly emotional, irrational, bullshite. Are there really still dumbasses pushing for 98mph to the head as legitimate retaliation for something?

Looked to me like Jake and Lucroy committed to the inside almost simultaneously. Unfortunate but not intentional
Lucroy's entire body was inside the baseline the entire time.
Runner has no business going there in today's MLB.
EVERY catcher sets up with his left foot against the baseline.
If you veer left, you are going to run into the catcher.
Also, only an idiot would go headfirst into home to the inside of the baseline.

That’s cool as long as you are cool with Trout taking one in the ribs in the AB that follows

Catcher shouldn't block the base path and runner should slide around the catcher. Unfortunate collision.

He looks clumsy more than anything else.
I am not biased one way or the other.

This is baseball to me. I think Marisnick is just trying to score.
Also, I hate Lucroy so I’m somewhat in between some biases here

Lucroy wasn't blocking the plate at all! What are some of you watching? He is clearly in front of the plate, leaving Marisnik the ability to slide to the back half of the plate. This was a dirty play, plain and simple. I realize that once upon a time, this was legal, but its not anymore since the Buster Posey injury. He should be fined, suspended and he should keep his head on a swivel moving forward.

Jesus fricking Christ what were you watching? Lucroy was trying to block the plate right in the middle of the base path. Marisnick saw this and made the attempt to slide on the inside when Lucroy shifted into him. There was nothing either of them could do.
Look at where he is setup to catch the ball and where Marisnick is committing to the inside.
Look at where Lucroy ends up.
