Looks accidental, but a really dumb decision. Where did he think he was going? There is nowhere near enough room to the inside. There never is.

Do you have any gifs of Jake after the play, prancing around saying, “hell yeah, f that little bitch”? It was terrible. Dude needs a lifetime suspension.

No, you don’t, because he was distraught over a play that was a part of baseball that was completely unintentional on his part. Go away.

The catcher is only required to give a path to the plate. By setting up in FRONT of the plate, the runner had a path to the plate. Runner should be at least fined for that.

Marisnick was trying to pick a side to go head first into, so when he got juked, they both end up same side.

I am truly saddened that Lucroy was involved in this. He would likely have spoken at Robe’s wake tonight in Lafayette, but honestly, he put himself in harm’s way.

Marisnick is 6’7” and was trying to find a way to the plate avoiding the tag. It’s Lucroy’s business to get the ball and make the tag avoiding the runners direct path to the plate.

There was no malice on either side, but the new rules definitely favor the runner in most cases.

Looks like he went to go left right before the catcher slid that way.

His next step was him trying to adjust and it went to hell real quick

Remember in Rocky III when they announced Hulk Hogan's character as 7 feet and 400 pounds?

@JSMarisnick

Through my eyes I thought the play was going to end up on the outside of the plate. I made a split second decision at full speed to slide head first on the inside part of the plate. That decision got another player hurt and I feel awful. I hope nothing but the best for @JLucroy20

Best view I've seen of the play. Jake is running straight at Lucroy who's blocking the plate. He makes the decision to slide headfirst inside and Lucroy drops in front of him at the same time to field the ball.

Judge is a legit 6’7”. Marisnick is 6-3, maybe 6-4.

The truth is that they were both trying to avoid each other. But they both tried to avoid each other in the exact same direction, which led to the collision.

I know this thread was probably made to try and trigger the Astros fans. Most definitely didn't work though. OP is an idiot and everyone knows it shouldn't have been an out. Hopefully Lucroy is okay though. He's one of the good ones.

Looked to me like Jake and Lucroy committed to the inside almost simultaneously. Unfortunate but not intentional
