As a Yankee fan this means they are moving on from Cano.

Nope. Still have their offer outstanding to Cano, and said they can still pay him, and are going after a SP

Jesus. This is the type of deal that they needed to get away from. I was hoping that they'd let the stars of yesteryear and their ginormous contracts run out and then essentially build from scratch.

Another example of why baseball sucks now.

frick you Ellsbury. And I'm not even a Red Sox fan.

I actually like this deal better than McCann for them... though catching was a position of need. If Crawford was worth this much, Ellsbury was bound to get this amount from someone.

The Yankees are tired of playing 3rd fiddle to the BoSox and Rays. Time to go back to George Steinbenner's style and start handing out bags of cash.

Yankees outfield of Gardner, Ichiro, Ellsbury???

1b: Tex
SS: Jeter
C: McCann
DH: Soriano
CF: Ellsbury
LF: Gardner
RF: Ichiro

2B/3B undecided at the moment... That line up would suck

Crawford was more established and an All-Star, Ellsbury isn't close to what Crawford was when he hit FA

Exactly what I was thinking. The guy is already 30, has had one "great" season, that is a total outlier (PEDs?), and is an otherwise, good, not great lead-off hitter.

Thanks Yankees.

This beats giving Beltran and his chronic knee 3-48mil. If they are still in on cano as they say this lineup will be terror on RH pitchers. This guy will rake in Yankee stadium.
