Actual country is fine.
Bro country sucks.

Haven't watched any pregame in years, but whatever network used that Kenny Chesney football song - go back to it. Was it a bit trite and derivative? Sure. Did it at least evoke some atmosphere for football? Yep. You could do worse.
Like anything hip-hop worse.

Lol that's what immediately popped in my head.
LSU vs. UGA 2003 Intro
I think they used that only for 2003 before switching to Big & Rich.

False. This is just this year's anthem for ESPN coverage. They have had a different on each season.
The Gameday opening them song is still that Comin to your city song lol

Did you know that the black guy leans conservative ?
That should be a bonus in these parts.

That’s not the new Gameday song, this is like their Fall Out Boy “Centuries” or Imagine Dragons season theme song

My God that is horrible. Wish they would play a Hank Williams song. Are the days of that ever happening gone?

Some of those hits in the highlights would be penalties if LSU was playing Alabama the next week.

Make sure to hit mute. At least other song uses instruments.

Big and Rich, regardless of their quality, would not be considered Bro Country. At least "Comin to your city" wouldnt fall in that category.
Bro country doesnt just mean "any modern country song i hate that i deem not country enough".
Its a very specific subgenre
It’s a shitty bastardization of country music no matter how you want to crawfish about it

You’d think they’d want to go for a song that somewhat hypes the fans up, but College Gameday has really just become 1:30 of personal interest stories, 1:00 of playoff talk, then about 30 minutes of game previews.

Yeah I noticed it's been missing for quite a while now

The worst is SEC on CBS every season uses some shitty country song, as if SEC fans are all a bunch of trash who listens to that garbage.
Don’t deny who you really are

All ya'll criticizing hip-hop/rap for college football must not have spent much time on campus or at tailgates. I can't speak for the average fan's preferences but from experience students and alumni under 50 in SEC and ACC are more likely to listen to rap than country on gamedays.
