I think you'd expect a little more than four wins at this point from such a hyped player. Is Popovich over the hill?

He is and has been way overhyped by the media. He is way under weight and gets pushed around to easy.

He's the black Shawn Bradley and Pop's brain is addled with acute TDS

The other players haven’t bought into wemby being their guy and seem salty. Basically the other guys are trying to get their own stats at the expense of the team

Same thing happened to LeBron with the cavs early on

Wemby is still raw but he will be one of the best in the nba sooner than later

Go look up what Giannis did his first year in the league.

The only thing that will slow Wemby down is injuries. Once he adds muscle and catches up to the speed of the NBA, he'll be a better version of Giannis.

I highly doubt this.

I do have some questions about the Spurs development plan for him. They are letting him explore the space of taking a lot of perimeter shots and letting him "cook" on-ball.

It has lead to way too many pull-up jumpers and bad offense. He's looking a lot like rookie Kristaps. He is still a bit light in the hips to dominate with his back to the basket, and this leads to a lot of jumpers as well.

He needs time to grow into his frame and the Spurs need to have hum working more inside of 15ft as opposed to behind the 3pt line.

The hope is he will develop a game like how Kristaps played last year for the Wiz and thus season for Boston.

He is a rookie who is averaging 19/11. The spurs are not good. No pg. players aren’t great. Sochan has been a bust. Pop has done some weird things like trying Sochan as a point forward. They need the year to have Wemby figure out how he will play in the nba. Get stronger. He will be a good player as long as he isn’t derailed by injuries.

Well you have downs syndrome so it's no surprise that you doubt it.

Pop is washed and is basically punting on Wemby’s first year

Chet Holmgren has been better so far, although he's in a significantly better situation so probably not a fair comparison.

I hardly pay attention to the NBA and basketball as a whole, but as a casual the media and nba people definitely pumped him up to be a Lebron James type prospect with even crazier measurables.

I haven’t really heard shite about him so I guess he isn’t lighting the league on fire or anything.

How many 19yr olds do you think have ever averaged 18/10/3blk in nba history?

I’m staring at the answer. Just take a guess

I'm glad you felt the need to bring your non-knowledge to the discussion.

Wemby is doing great for a rook. He's on a terrible team, and he's having ups and downs. More ups though.. It's his first year. He's on a good track.

Chet’s % are significantly better, who gives a shite about ppg at that clip. he’s on a better team though so that helps get better looks
