Sounds like we didn’t pass up on much to get O.

Gundy is the best coach on that list and he would have been expensive.

While I like Fleck and others, Fleck just took a job of death at Minny. His career may not survive that.

I give him the benefit of doubt because of how bad Texas was prior to him arriving. Even those "stunning" classes were filled with overrated players. I do believe he has to win 9 games this year though

Hell we could have hired Aranda. I mean we didnt even trust O with the defense yet we trusted him with the program?

To be fair UT was a lot worse off than people gave them credit for.

Were they though? Texas brass had Strong run off a ton of MB's players but then they refused to comprehend when you do that it takes longer to rebuild. I feel like if they had let him stay instead of tearing everything down after just 3 years they would have been much better than last year's Herman led 7-6.

It's not like they are getting blown out in most of their losses. They just make horrible mistakes at the worst times and couple it with strange play calls/personnel decisions.

Their OC/QB coach Tim Beck is an idiot. No idea why Herman hired him in the 1st place.

All of this.

The Texas brass was uncomfortable with the Strong hire from the beginning and they seemed to never really fully accept him. I dont know if that was race related (queue Red McCombs quote) or the fact that they were rundown from the latter Mack Brown years.

Either way, Strong had to not only rip up the rotting foundation of Texas football, but he had to set a new culture and then start building on that. He was building their program the RIGHT way, but the greedy Texas brass was too impatient and entitled to give him a fair shot. Herman gave them the familiar feeling of good old Texas football.

Texas treated Strong like shite from day 1 and then got greedy with Herman.

It's like the dude who has a cute highly dependable wife in his company until he sees the flashy supermodel walk by and he leaves the dependable one. The supermodel ultimately let's him down and he regrets leaving the dependable wife type.

Herman had the Texas background and was flashy and Texas decided to be assholes to chase the shiny new Herman.

Maryland is 2-22 against the top 25 since 2011. He’s done a lot for the Terps program.

The LSU douches who swore he was the next coming will be here to tell you how wrong you are. They will tell you how he just needs his team around him. lulz 2 years in a row losing to garbage arse maryland without a head coach.

I wonder if LSU fans still feel regret around not getting Herman

Would I rather a dumb contract to a shitty coach or a reasonable contract to an up and Comer who may flame out.

Give me the up and Comer.

Aranda is good, yet Leonard has never lost 59-0 to OSU.

What’s the go-to Texas message board now? I want to see the reaction.

First, I'm not a Texas fan nor a Texas hater.. For the last decade Texas has been a underachiever. Hard to figure how so much talent from Texas achieves so little, no matter who's in charge. I just hope it opens the door a little wider for us to continue to get top recruits from them.
