Full disclosure:
I admit I was intrigued at the time by the possibility of Herman as LSU's new coaching hire.
Coach O was not my first choice for HC.
Having said that, I did not like the way Herman and his agent used LSU to leverage a better contract from his preferred job, Texas. One surely couldn't characterize Herman's demands as a "reasonable contract". $5.25 million/yr is elite HC money for a man who's resume at the time was not elite.
