6. Cleveland Browns Tyler Eifert, TE, Notre Dame

apparently he isn't the only one who thinks this could happen.

6. Cleveland Browns: I’m selecting Notre Dame TE Tyler Eifert. Conventional wisdom says TE is not a position you take in the top ten. Two tight ends have been taken in the top ten in this decade, both at number six: Kellen Winslow in 2004, and Vernon Davis in 2006. I have written extensively about the increased value of the “Joker” TE in today’s NFL, and have talked to many defensive coordinators who have told me that matching up to “12” personnel (one back, two tight ends, and two wide receivers) is a real problem. Eifert is the most athletic TE in this draft class. I saw him split outside the numbers many times, and beat corners on vertical routes. Two things to keep in mind: Rob Chudzinski was the OC in Cleveland in 2007 when Winslow had 82 catches for 1,106 yards (the Browns won the AFC North that season), and new OC Norv Turner is a master at utilizing the TE, most recently Antonio Gates, but you can go all the way back to Jay Novacek with the Cowboys in the early 1990s.

what the frick have you guys been watching?

Look, I'm not here to prop the kid up or anything, I think 8 is probably too high, but that's 2 comments in a row where you guys are just completely clueless

Nassib has an excellent arm, borderline cannon.

Same with Eifert. Wouldn't be a good pick but said Cleveland might do it just to block Pittsburgh from grabbing him at No. 17

Heat Miller is pretty good. I mean if they thought Eifert was going to be a beast, I'd understand, but they need replacements for Wallace and Harrison.

Have to agree Prominent (wow that felt weird ) The QB class is an absolute shitshow, but Nassib isn't that bad

This mock I think is based on a lot of scouts he talked to propping up Eifert (Who is an athletic freak not quite as much as VD was, but he's more like Greg Olsen to me) and downplaying the rushers (Ziggy Ansah & Dion Jordan) and CB's (like Dee)

Miller is coming off of an acl injury in the last week of the season and is already pretty old

Lol. Mediocre ability to complete deep sideline routes and deep comeback routes means he has a cannon?

He's the same player as Barkley, just more athletic.

Not sure eifert is worthy of a top ten spot, although he is better than rudolph.

Past back problems would worry me if was a GM also

He is not trolling. This is the same guy who said al woods was a top pick ahead of Glenn Dorsey and he didn't even play much.

Dude is a moron.

Eifert at No. 6 is crazy! That being said, people love them some Jimmy Graham and Gronkowski. I could see a team reaching for him. 6 seems really high though.

Nassib is a really good QB. I actually think that this class will produce about 4-6 starting NFL QBs. Maybe not star QBs, but quality starters. Nassib being one of the better ones.

I think Nassib at 8 is worse, TBH.
