I saw that play. Oregon shoulda lost that game. Same rule should apply here.

And this wouldn't be a false start. It would just be illegal motion. Same penalty yardage, just not a dead ball false start. And, I think it should've been called tonight.

Not true. RBs are taught if they false start to not stop and go in motion. You can't be going forward when the ball is snapped.

Edit.

didn't see it but any player that moves has to stop (set) before the ball is snapped. Any player who is moving forward like that should be called for a false start.

apparently there isn't holding on the kicker either. (someone called me this morning and told me to youtube search the 'Michigan Sugar Bowl Fake Field Goal' & count the penalties

What confc were those refs from?

i know there are different rules for kicking plays. otherwise the ball would be down when the holder catches the snap w/ his knee on the ground.

Really? How so? Did you not see the end of the game where they were on a 9 minute drive and basically killed the click?

That penalty gets called in practically every football game played when an offensive player, usually a lineman, jumps towards the line of scrimmage before the snap.
