Is there any sporting event that gets sweet syrupy coverage like the Masters?

Not even Super Bowls get the kid glove treatment like this tournament.

Has Jim Nantz ever in the dark recesses of his mind ever thought so much as a neutral throught about the event?

No one has even ever had sex on those pristine grounds.

What exactly do you want him to say?

Do you want to hear about segregation in the 60's? Players smoking cigarettes?A greens keeper who got passed over for a promotion?a sappy " human interest" story about some retarded sibling?

If CBS, in general, and the announcers, in particular, don’t do the dance as the Masters orders, they’ll pull the plug. If any “patron” acts up - “You da Man!” - they’ll get a polite tap on the shoulder and escorted off the grounds.

There’s nothing quite like it in the world.

Right. Lets not make this like the Olympics where it's a billion human interest stories or a bunch of terrible arse commentary telling us the same canned personal stats about some player. I appreciate that it's largely about the play at this point. Some sports are really missing that these days.

They got enough heat that they now have the Augusta National Women's Amateur as part of the lead up too. Time to move on.

It would be interesting for someone, somewhere to do an article about the literal tons of chemicals being dumped into the ground and Rae’s creek during the event.

As just one example.

It’s a bit much for me.

Apparently Tiger is tied for the lead. Yay. Get ready for all sports bros everywhere to lose their shite even more than they normally lose their shite over the Masters.

It would interesting to no one except about for about 5 SJW's/eco Nazis.

WTF?This is something interesting to you? BTW how many stories have been about other golf courses and "chemicals" used while a tournament is being broadcast? How many? Care to guess?

You started a thread the other day about a cop at Augusta. Now you want to hear a story about chemicals at the Masters? What is this weird obsessive animus you have against the Masters?

You sound like the PETA folks whose asses are chapped over horses getting injured on certain surfaces in horse racing.

Can't wait to have those guys in town in May.
