someone is tied for 7th place? I just found out that Freddy Couples is the leader. Without Woods, there'd be as many people in the US watching golf as they do soccer.

Danica Patrick and her amazing 31st place finishes in NASCAR.

I must've missed it. I haven't seen Couples swing a club.

Danica, Favre and Tony Romo dont need to sniff the winners circle to get an inordinate amount of coverage too.

It wasn't on Thursday either. I'm guessing someone watched the very end of coverage when everyone in Tiger's group was playing well and there weren't many guys on the course.

Are you new to this?
They have been doing this for years now, man. Every tourney he plays in is wall to wall coverage for Tiger, no matter what position he is in.
The reason? Look at the ratings when Tiger is not playing as compared to when he is playing. I am not a Tiger supporter, golf watcher, or golf player, but no one can argue with the ratings.
As they say, 50 million Elvis fans can't be wrong.

If you need a reason why, look at his 2nd on the 9th yesterday. Around a tree and puts it within 10 feet, then makes the putt.

answer this, if you were the producer for espn, who would you show and talk about?

It's nice that he's learned to avoid trees over the last 5 months

EXACTLY!
The man is the greatest to EVER PLAY THE GAME!
If someone wants to watch some guy shoot a 72 every round, and praise his consistancy, fine. Most people would rather watch a guy have a chance to shoot a 64, any time he steps on to the course, even if it is the Masters.
Tiger makes it look easy, which in turn makes every single MAN think, "Oh, well I could do that". Just like almost every guy thinks that if coach would have just given me the chance, I could have been great.
"Betcha I could throw a football over them mountains."

I hope the site can handle the load. It's going to be busy.

I guess this all proves my point. Without Woods, golf=bowling.

Where the hell you been the last decade? Of course golf is all about Tiger Woods.
Are you trying to make a point?
