And even if this is true, it's still really shitty to spend time on it. Think about what the wife and the boyfriend would be going through only to have the worst moment of their lives meme'd to death

Like who fricking cares, you couldn't pick any of these people out of line up if your life depended on it. That would be true for all but a handful of people.

The pearl clutching here is something. And it's all because this chick is hot, which is also the only reason any of us know about this story in the first place.

If this is is actually the worst moment she experiences in life, she will have had a pretty awesome life.

McAfee never used her name and said “this might not be true”

How does this put him in the clear if images of her were broadcast from his show and the story was disseminated? Whether her name was mentioned or not is irrelevant because she was still identified through images.

I don’t think you can defame someone if you clearly state “I don’t know if this is true”

Irresponsible? Sure. Illegal? I don’t see it

A cheating spouse is no where close to the worst thing that can happen to you in life. Feel fee to keep twisting though.

Which is why people shouldn't spread high school-esque rumors across platforms to millions of people.

I don't care if McAfee said her name or not. This girl's life has been ruined for a long time because of this entire ordeal. Even if she slept with the dad, who gives a shite? That's in-house drama they can handle on their own. No need to turn it into a huge spectacle for Internet losers to yap about.

So if I owned a medium that reached a million people a day and I used it to display images of your daughter and discussed who she might be fricking I’m in the clear as long as I say “I don’t know if this is true”?

My parents lost a child, that is one of many things infinitely worse than a cheating spouse and a week of memes.

I'm not wasting my time trying to convince you that 99.99% of America has no clue who any of these people are and none of their lives are "ruined" by the internet fame.

I mean yeh. He took an already public story and clearly made it a point to not state the story as a fact

Was he an irresponsible double? Yea. But how in the world could that be illegal?

AZA is a very well-regarded litigation firm in Houston. While they are able to recruit from the same candidate pool as "BigLaw," it isn't a national firm with hundreds of attorneys. A Louisiana equivalent might be Fishman Haygood.

Still, AZA's reaction has been impressive. I had no idea that they had the pull to place articles in multiple publications (e.g., NYT's The Athletic, Daily Mail, New York Post, to name a few).

Having a large portion of the country talk about it and have it talked about on national TV is pretty fricking bad. They did not get to deal with this privately, the whole online country was looking at them.

Especially if it is not true.

I really don't know what your argument is in this thread.
