Well you had the same type thing with the pats during their run. But I doubt you see anyone doing something like bama did with Saban. Closest would be Kirby as long as he is there.

Ohio State is easily the top 2-3 the NIL world.

This was my thinking too, the new world catapults them to top 2-3.

Also, in a 12 team playoff , there is almost no reasonable scenario that Ohio State doesn’t make it.

Agree as well.

The fact that you can’t stockpile talent simply means the best 22 wins. Ohio State (and a few other schools) can simply buy the best 22 every year.

It doesn’t always quite work out that way. And if ND wins it means Ohio state didn’t buy the best 22.

Also there are other mitigating factors like injuries that could derail a season if only relying on 22.

Ohio State is going to be Saban's Alabama on steroids.

Saban didn’t win the national championship every year either.

The sec also only won one of like the first 5 BCS title games then took over.

Sec missed first year of playoffs and then ran that as well

So not showing up one year isn’t a death nail

A two loss team that hasn’t even won a title yet?

I’m going to go with no.

If not, who could step up, if anyone?

possibly the team who has been the best team 3 out of last 4 years, won 2 of the national titles, and was still a top 4 team and sec champion in a year where literally nothing went right.

Decent point, but then it may not be "next" dynasty. I respect UGA so no disrespect in the question.

Ohio State has the most draft picks since 2000. So, yes. Yeah, that can.

I mean, shouldn't we at least give them a chance to win one in a row first?

Man, I know. The list of small schools with poor, dispassionate fan bases that won national titles in the pre-NIL world is long indeed.

50 years ago who might have ever even dared to imagine that Notre Dame and Ohio State might meet for a national championship game?

Because those big schools and their wealthy alumni bases weren't buying football player prior to NIL?

Enrollment
Ohio State: 67,000
Auburn: 34,000
FSU: 45,000

Don’t be dense…

Don’t make dumbass statements.

The same teams that won before NIL are still going to win.
