This is why the CFP is going to 14 teams in 2026. ND cried and for some reason the CFP listened.

This will change when the SEC and Big 10 get rid of their championship games in a few years

The conference championship is the difference. ND should be required to play a P4 opponent in a thirteenth game to qualify. They could schedule it like Hawaii does.
